You need strong genuine quicks to blow the tail. Someone like Akram who took mostly tailenders could bamboozle these tailenders.

Wood had that job. Was too dumb.

This sort of batting effort is needed by Indian team. It is not about talent alone, it is more about attitude.

Bumrah-Shami did it. Infact lower order has been saving the blushes regularly.

Yea. bowled short ball outside the line of the batsman. Not even proper short balls.

Just need a yorker or two

They are not tailenders. Starc, Cummins, Murphy. Only Hazelwood is tailender in that team. There used to be real tailenders during Akram time in 90s.

Even in 5th test Bumrah scored almost the same number of runs in one over than Kohli scored in the entire match.

When Wood bowled fast and full they had no answer. For some reason he started bowling short ball on this slow pitch where ball hardly got up.

IN this series tailenders have had the say.   LYon/CUmmins first.  Then Wood/Woakes in another test. Now Murphy/Cummins.

Just because they bat at 7, 8, 9 doesn't mean they are proper tailenders. They are Lower order batsmen. Woakes is proper alrounder. Cummins is bowling alrounder.

More or less equal. 12 runs England will score in one over.  But England bowled a lot of overs. If they are smart they will give enough rest to their bowlers by consuming overs as well.

Bowling allrounder is a stretch. He averages 16 and has 2 50s in 54 Tests. Bowling allrounder is someone like Pollock

Though Should bat ahead of Starc

We had Srinath who is no slouch with bat. Kumble was not bad either.

Should these catches be outlawed? Going outside the boundary and coming back to catch.

No. Was inside the boundary when he first touched it.

Yup these guys have obvious weaknesses you can exploit. It is the opposition's failure not to do that. Remember Malinga and Herath bulldozed us in one of the Test.  Also worst in my memory is Root adding 198 runs for last wicket with Jimmy Anderson. MSD captaincy was Atrocious. When Anderson joined Root, Root was 50 not out. WHen the match was over Root 154 not out. Andu 81 in 134 balls.  He was reverse sweeping at will.  We had Shami, Bhuvi, Ishant, Jadeja

I know he was inside the boundary but once he stepped out, he should be not out.

The fielders have become very good with this move.
