The first time winner scenario falls into two domains:

a) teams that have never won a World Cup such as NZ & SA.

b) teams that have never won a World Cup in subcon such as Eng & Pak.

This is not about the semi-finalists but who has the best chance to win the World Cup.

1st time winner in subcontinent conditions? Ab ye kya hai?

Combining two levels where at one level we have teams that have never won, and at another level, we have teams that have won a title but have yet to win their first in subcon.

So far, WI is the only exception where it has won 2 titles in the same country/region:

WI - 2x in Eng (75 & 79)

Ind - in Eng (83) & Subcon (11)

Aus - in Subcon (87), Eng (99), SA (03), WI (07), & Aus (15)

Pak - in Aus (92)

SL - in Subcon (96)

Eng - in Eng (19)

Crap talk. You either first time winner or no Bharat never won in Africa, Americas and Australia. Are we going exclude them too?

SA Aus & Pakistan...  These teams have right mix for LOI these days

I think England or India will botch in Semis or won't even make it to the KO.

Between OZ and Pakistan. SA will botch it somewhere.

Have only followed the scores (apart from watching an over here and there), and it appears as if NZ and SA are shaping up well in the tournament.
