The issue from what I understand.

The side of the kabaddi court is called the lobby. When a raider comes in, the defending team members cannot step into that area if the raider does not touch any defender. If they do, they are out and the opposing team gets a point.

According to an old rule in the PKL:

If a raider goes into the lobby without touching anyone and defenders follow into the lobby the defenders are out and the raider is out. In one PKL match one guy did this and got the entire opposition out and changed the game completely. So the rule was changed

The new rule states that both teams get 1 person out each .. and the game continues.

The umps first gave 1-1... the Indians protested vociferously saying that the rule book has the old rule. The decision was reviewd and India got 4-1. Iran protested vociferously and they tried to go back to 1-1.

Now the Indians are refusing to play. The commentators are saying that for the sanctity of the game either redo the raid or go with 1-1 for the sake of the game.

Kabaddi match has become a joke now, total farce. Refs should take control, in any sport, and not get influenced by players, coaches.

exactly.Refs are gods ,even if they are wrong you should suck it up and play.

this has taken the shine of a great day for India.

Why?

It's not on the Indian team to stand up for their rights. This is on the refs for not pointing to the rule book and saying this is the rule and move on.

WTF...just give it 1-1 and play on.

Indian coach Bhaskaran is also throwing tantrums.

He was right to do so. Actually he was fine when they initially said 1-1. Then they realised that is not the rule and overruled that decision to announce 4-1.

Then they went back on that decision as well. That is when he got incensed. Completely right. It's on the officials for not being clear on the rule. Pathetic refereeing. A case study of how not to referee

I missed the last 5 minutes and funded in to see India celebrating lol. What happened? How did they resolve that situation?

They realised the Indian team was right about the rules in the rule book and did what the rules said
