3rd ODI, Tarouba, August 01, 2023, India tour of West Indies

This Windies team under any scoreboard pressure will crumble. Their bowling and batting is as bad as each other.

If the other team scores 375 - their batting will crumble.

If they score 375 - their bowling can give those up like vs NL.

Their ideal match is like last one where opposition sets them < 200 on a good pitch to bat on - then they will get it while huffing and puffing.

However watch the heroes like Dravid and Rohit now praise Mukesh and Unadkat like they are...... never mind.

Dravid should know by now trundlers will not work in big matches.

Dravid in 2007 WC replaced a ODI opening combo of Sehwag/Tendulkar and replaced it with Sehwag/Uthappa.  Admittedly Dravid did that with Chappell.

After that I realized Dravid is capable of just about anything.

Perfect example of celebrating mediocrity.

We need to improve and not stagnate with 35 average bowlers.

Yeah....

We are emotional about cricket and need to celebrate with what we have...

Because we can't raise our voice against corrupt system...

Hang on...who is Jay shah and how many matches he played.. (btw..I know who he is but being sarcastic)

He did the same with two guys Harshlal and Avesh Khan.

Avesh kept playing all matches before world cup and then was dropped from the squad.

See I am not talking about Umran in particular but Dravid should know by now trundlers will not work in big matches.

He should be giving guys like Umran all the chances to see if he is any good , if not move on to another guy. What he has done is he kept Umran on the bench so no one knows if he is any good?

How can you expect him to become something when you don't even give him chances to fail.

He bowled 3 overs in this series. That is unfair.

I would go with prasidh Krishna or mohsin khan or even avesh but not umran..

I liked that Delhi guy... He was pretty good...wherever happened to him...

You yourself said..he dint even bowled 3 overs in entire series.....because he was leaking runs all over and captian couldn't go with him...

Umran is just a name of a guy who can bowl fast, replace him with any other bowler who can bowler fast. I don't care who it is, trundler will not work .

Who in the right mind calls Bhuvi a great bowler.Dravid thinks Bhuvi is great. He stinks and has stunk for many years.Bhuvi should have gone 4 years ago in 2019.

I am not big fan of Dravid.... I like ganguly better because he has the spine and he is the key guy who changed Indian team mind set....

But atleast... Drvaids intention are right and he gives his best

Bcci should pull guy like McCullum and again .. we might loose lots of matches and all the fans will be crying until he will be fired...

But with mccullum we have better chance of wining big games...but we might loose lots of meaningless bilaterals... What he is doing with England cricket team is amazing

Starc was leaking 7 runs per over but he was brought back .He won them that test match recently.I know it is test match. Nothing wrong in a bowler going for runs in his first spell.Kicking them out based on that is sheer stupidity.

On one hand you say you are experimenting but on the same hand you are not letting these young players fail.

Can you pls quickly name the top 5 ODI pace bowlers played for India in last 20 years...

Srinath retired in 2003 (after World Cup) ...so pls exclude him from the list

Shami, Bumrah, Siraj, these are names which come to mind. That is problem we are having at every level if guys like Shami or Umran who leak runs in one match they are bombarded by fans and dropped by coaches at every level.

Anyways...good night bro...

Time to sleep...

I thoroughly enjoyed recent ashes series and India is far far away in terms of pace bowling quality displayed by these 2 teams

Wishing for few genuine quality pace bowlers for India who can take wickets in all conditions

I m happy about siraj but he is just okie

Umran 13 wickets in 10 ODIs at 30 despite no wickets in last two games. It's not a bad start for an express pacer. He needs continuity.

Excluding Srinath the top bowlers would be  Zaheer, Nehra, Munaf (all retired)   ...........Ishant, Umesh, Shami, Bumrah, Siraj. (active)

in my opnion The best white ball  attack we had was in CB series 2008 and 2007 t20 world.

We beat Australia in Australia with pace on that day.

https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/commonwealth-bank-series-2007-08-291340/australia-vs-india-4th-match-291362/full-scorecard

RP Singh and Sreesanth did bowl over 140 in 2007 world t20 . They both were instrumental in India winning that cup. They did bowl fast.

Sreesanth is a guy who had everything but he did not get a good captain.

We need captains and coaches to encourage bowlers to bowl fast, you need two good fast bowlers to win world cups.

Lol...what is that guy done so far...except one ipl.season ...that too 4 to 5 matches...

I don't see anything in that guy 3xceot pace...

He is no Mark wood or strac...

He is dead straight and short .... Even the west indies b tema is playing with ease...

He couldn't complete 10 over quote with west indies B team...

May be ..he needs to learn art of pace bowling and figure out his wicket taking delivers....

Only pace doens't work....

Having said this...I am a big fan of pace bowling but unfortunately India doesn't have good pace bowlers in the pipeline

We have to live with what we have...

Umran doesn't seem to be remotly ready for ODI cricket

Right now..he is poor version of Ferguson (NZ) or Milne ...

Yes..we need Shane bond , Bret Lee or akhtar, Dale steryn .. but remember they have more than pace...

This guy looks dead straight...

I want him to improve but not on intl arena...

Had he atleast completing his 10 over quota ...I would have played him...

At the same time..I don't want unadkat

I figured it out finally.

In India you have more people who resemble Mukesh kumar, undaxutta and bhukake koomar. The physical attributes are relevant relatively speaking.

Many Indians are vegetarians

About 20%. That's quite a huge portion. Many don't eat meat on certain days either.

So those with more of a malnourished or under par physique with lower muscle mass are popular amongst the common fans who tend to not focus or just not have time in general for athletic endeavours due to a combination of lack of opportunities, lack support from parents to encourage sports at school level and lastly due to the rigorous education system in India that emphasise on mastering theoretical knowledge rather than practical expertise.

So in other words such common players who trundle have more in common with general population hence they get favoured and consequently management is obliged to pick them over the more muscular, stronger and faster bowlers with better physical attributes.

From 50/6 to 88/8 to 150 a. o.. Indias troubles with lower order and tail continues and unless they get a fast bowler who bowls yorkers to get rid of tail, this shitshow will persist. I see Fraudeja was smacked by Motie for sixes.. Lol. This Fraud did nothing in the series yet he will be in the playing XI come WC.

In the name of balance he has been part of the side regularly for 14 years. He should just stick to Tests. He is also getting older. So fielding will also regress.  Almost all his innings he played at no.7. Career strike rate there is 82. He can bat at no.8. No.7 should be a solid hitter.
