As for Parag, he is not a Test order MO bat. his FC average is very poor; only started to improve this season. should be playing ODIs instead. Link to comment

There are many top.order batsman.ie Jaiswal,Gill,Patidar,Paddikal,Gaikwad,Iyer,Rahul,Sudharshan but there are not many batsman who can bat at no 6 and can also bowl. Taking this test into consideration, Ashwin will not bowl,Jadeja has niggles and there us no one to share the bowling load. In such circumstances we need players who can bowl atleast 10 overs in a test and at present in Ranji only Parag is there who can do the role. There are many spin bowling allrounders but batting allrounders are very rare Link to comment

I think.there is perception against Parag about being hot headed,undisciplined . Many have been pissed about his celebrations also. But we should see the example of Sarfaraz ,how he was perceived as undisciplined etc. There are many quality top order batsman,but there are very few ,who can bat at no 5,6 with the tail,and score big and also who can bowl. As he plays for a weak team Assam,often he is in a situation where he runs out of partner. He has mindset of building the inning after collapse. Sindhu is 19 yr old, and has racked up both centuries and more regular bowling in his career. Hence, I would rather groom him as the batting AR. or even Sundar if he can return to his old batting form. They should also use his bowling along with bowling of Jaiswal if needed. If the pitch is not turning they can even leave out Ashwin. Link to comment
