Lone Wolf
Shafique & Wasim Jnr look only bad picks... Both won't Start anyways. Pakistan still believes Ihsanullah ain't ready after mediocre returns vs Afg. May see him & Zaman Khan in China during Asian Games. Link to comment
Lone Wolf
Imam Fakhar Babar Shakeel Rizwan Chachu/Salman Shadab Nawaz/Usama Shaheen Nasim Rauf This could be likely combination they will play vs us on Sep 2. Link to comment
Lone Wolf
Emerging Motu Uncle Tayyab Tahir also rewarded after his smashing Inns against Indian kids Norman, rollingstoned, Number and 2 others 5 Link to comment
vvvslaxman
Their lower order batting has been good. That will give them cushion in case there is a collapse. In big tournaments having depth is vital. Because you don't have to have perfect games in every match as you have more guys to cover. It also frees up the mind of top order batsmen. Our one-dimensional hacks will rely on some individual brilliance once again in every match. Who knows. We might falter against Afghanistan. Link to comment
Austin 3:!6
Last 2 editions of Asia cup was won by the host side: 2018 - India 2022 - Srilanka Considering Pakistanis the host this time, they should win it as per the norm. Link to comment
Lone Wolf
Love the professionalism & transparency of PCB though. Proper PC's & questions asked. Stark contrast with BCCI & India. Absolute sh*tshow going on here. Rampant corruption & regionalism at play Norman 1 Link to comment
Lone Wolf
Ajit Agarkar should announce squad via PC or online PC if he has guts. Chetan Sharma was one heck of a lallu Cheif selector who never even bothered. Even MSK Prasad used to face press once in a while. express bowling 1 Link to comment
test fan
Pakistan is solid odi team .imad in place of Faheem is better choice considering asia cup and world cuo happening in subcontinent Link to comment

Isn't it? Yes... Pakistan have improved in the past year or so but it's still 60-40 in our favour all things considered. Their middle order is meh and their bowling apart from Shaheen and Rauf can be easily milked around in ODIs. Even their stronghold top 3 doesn't have the ability to be ruthless like Dhawan-Rohit-Kohli of the yesteryears. express bowling 1 Link to comment

Our lazy arse attack ripped their batting majority of times, even last year If we have our first or even first and half choice attack we can again rattle their line up Just need some sense in our side of boundary Edited August 9 by Suhaan express bowling 1 Link to comment

People here are treating them as if they're stacked from top to bottom with match winning batters like England or Australia. express bowling and AKane 2 Link to comment

We have to look beyond numbers & our Team isn't peaking or the graph isn't going upwards. Rohit Kohli Shami Jadeja are not the gun players like they were in 2019. Pakistan team is definately on the upswing & their core is relatively younger & not on a decline. It's like 2003 WC reversal. They had the star power but we had the younger side with plenty of raw Talent. Link to comment

I may have mixed up with the NZ game when he was smashed around.. Didn't bowl express pace either. Probably they think he is not ready beyond 4 overs. May get a look in for Asian Games. I would have picked Arshad Iqbal over Wasim Jnr in a heartbeat though. Link to comment

Just because a team's performance curve is on the rise and another team's is going down, doesn't mean the former are better. It still comes down to the overall quality of the teams at a point of time. And I already said, Pakistan are improving, we have declined a bit and that's the reason for the 60-40 odds instead of 80-20 we had during the 2013-2019 phase. Link to comment
Norman
A middle order of Rizwan/Iftikhar/Salman (?) followed by the bowling all rounders Shadab/Nawaz isn't really an encouraging prospect for poyzz if I'm being honest. And unlike T20s, Shadab and Nawaz are barely above average spinners in ODIs. Two blaring weaknesses right there. Link to comment

His off spin is just add on. Another Hafeez in the making I'd say. Chachu Ifti is a Misbah style spin hitter. He is their best power hitter by far. Usama Mir is in great form and dude gas batting ability as well so he is a good back up option of Shadab. Their team is no way a world beater but in Asian Conditions I'd put them ahead of current Indian side. I can't name one decent match winner in Indian batting order right now. When Kohli at the fag end of his career is your best hope against Pakistan bowling... It's definately panic button time. Link to comment
Sooda
Would agree Pak are favourites vs India, settled line up unlike ours especially in Asian conditions. Batting isnt world class Babar aside but its Settled and bats deep, Imam has been good, Iftikhar and Fakhar can take the game away on their day . Batting till 8 even 9 Afridi can hit . World class pace attack of course. Lots of bowling options Nawaz and Shadab are good LOI bowlers Fear for this current unsettled india v Pak. Link to comment
