This is a orbiter mission hence not a lot of excitement. Not a lot of build up to it as well planned by ISRO. So it was a medium low key event. Hopefully such events would boost partnerships with Western space agencies when it comes to R&D programs & we keep improving provided they are willing to share tech. Obviously can't be a lander on the sun But India's first solar mission and successful coffee_rules and Lone Wolf 1 1
Khota Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 I just read somewhere they did not put heaters on the rover so the odds of it waking up are negligible.
Khota Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 It did not wake up. I guess ISRO knows the tradeoffs.

Heard batteries expired sooner due to extreme cold so it was a long shot in the first place. Hopefully next Rover on Mars after 2030 landing mission would rival Chinese one. DeepSpace Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Having worked in this area of space exploration, I truly admire what ISRO has done for the cost it incurred. It is a fantastic feat. If NASA were to do a similar mission, the cost would have easily been 10x (not justified even considering the cost of labor differences between India and US). Kudos to ISRO!
