Possible line up that will make sense post 2025 WTC Final:

P Shaw/R Gaikwad

Y Jaiswal

S Gill

V Kohli

R Pant

KL

W Sundar/R Bawa

Axar

Kuldeep Yadav/Arshdeep/Avesh

J Bumrah

M Siraj

Openers and no 3 have a lot of work to do to improve technique and temperament.

Kohli will be 37-38 by then and Bumrah 32-33

yep, kohli for sure will be too old, and his test skills are not the same as LOIs (where he has rebounded to an extent). bumrah may be fading too. and pant will probably not be the same player post-injury.

and the rest look very flaky, even if not "trash" (the word I used)

Pehle 2025 WTC Final toh khelo

Right now, our team is ranked 6th in the WTC points table.   90% probability of not making it to the WTC final this time.   Blessing in disguise for us as our hearts are not flexible enough to deal with the trauma of hattrick of WTC final losses(all one sided in nature).

Been saying for long, we are a mediocre cricket nation. We are not good enough.

Good to note that everyone has started arriving to that conclusion.

Most likely, Aus vs SA.

Could be Aus vs NZ as well.    SA are playing a 2 test series in NZ next month.  And they will be sending their B team to NZ (as per reports). NZ drew 1-1 with Ban in Ban.  Another 2 wins at home confirmed for the kiwis.

T20 & IPL cricket does tinker a lot with the batting style.

If anything, we need to create a pool of players (specially batters) who shouldn't play more than 2 formats at once, no matter how much "once a generational talent" they are.

You cannot do that, BCCI won't let it happen. Players have the right to earn the money, if they are good in all three formats they have to play all three formats. They will get breaks as India has large pool of players.

As Tom Brady once said, I am more happy to go to 9 super bowls and lose all of them than sitting at home watching super bowl.

Most of us know winning trophies need some luck too.So more chances they get to win those cups the better odds are them winning one of them.
