Plus Mayank is far more accurate no no-balls/wides or full-tosses. But its unfair to compare Umran to Mayank.

Umran had bad last season ,Mayank has started good. IPL 2022 Umran was hitting Ind's star batters on lids every match was not in 150s that often but carried his pace till 4th over.

 

Mayank has h release point with steep bounce and Zip.

Umran needs guidance and support not sure who he consulted after 2022 season, they messes his head up. Should talk to Lee or Tait they understand bowling at 150 kmph how to use it properly. He had some good SMAT or was it some other trophy...??

In 2022, captain was Kane Williamson who knew how to use his express pace and he got 25 wickets.  SRH then released Williamson after that season.

Umran regressed after he trained under Mhambrey. Started trying too many things at a lesser pace. And when it did not work, he was used as an enforcer bowling 4 shorts balls every over which is not his forte.

 

That is my fear regarding Mayank Yadav too. From the results we are seeing, it seems that Mhambrey likes every pacer to be a swing bowler upfront. Try channel bowling and cut down on bounce. While most of our success under Arun came with fast seam bowling.

 

And Mayank is a seam bowler too. If he is told to pitch the ball up for swing, alter his grip and bowl the channel then he may be totally messed up.

 

Remember LSRK interviewing Prasidh after he tried to swing the ball and got smashed. He asked, " do you consider yourself a seam bowler or a swing bowler ? "  Prasidh replied " Seam bowler ". LSRK asked, " Then why did you try to swing the ball ? ".

 

Mhambrey should understand that all pacers don't have and need not have the same bowling style.

Yes every1 looks down on pace trying thing that does-not work for them. Would say its ok if they donot pick Myank for t20wc.

Umran looks lost not the same confident and happy guy from 2022 season. His usp is not bowling sub 145 kmph, there are better bowler at that pace.

 

 Pradish action release is not made for swing unless he work 6-8 month just to find swing with that action and release

He is struggling even in domestic,luckily he has pace so they keep picking him otherwise would have been dropped by now.

Entire J&K bowling is crap stat wise.

Their best bowler is Abid Mushtaq who is a spinner...from pacer side it's Rasikh Salam who was manhandled yesterday.

 

Last best bowler from J&K was Ram Dayal who was a brisk pacer, but never got his due.

 

For all the domestic stat limitations, Umran actually has good record in both T20 & ODI. Despite of the fact that he flopped in his first T20 series vs Ireland.

Excellent observation.

Even when he was playing for India, he always had than sense of relaxation on his face. Despite being a fast bowler, he never did any verbal gymnastics towards batsman and was happy in his own world.

 

Now you can easily sense that he is tensed. He seems lost and that reflects in his bowling.

 

It's understood that he is raw, hasn't come from the system and don't know much of the nuances of fast bowling. He is still a simple guy who runs it and bowls a fast delivery to hit the wickets. SRH mgmt need to understand they can't make a leader out of him, he is not a leader material like Bumrah. He is more like Umesh who can provide perfect cushion to the 2 main pacers.

For Mayank it works as a fulcrum giving his right leg the impetus to move forward. For Aamir it doesn't do anything like that.

 

Aamir is also very open at the release, body parts all over the place. Mayank is straight as an arrow.

He is down in confidence at the moment. He comes from tennis cricket so will take time to learn the nuances of season cricket.
