we can bring in a fair number of their top players from past/present: rohan kanhai, al kallicharan, shiv chanderpaul, nick pooran, etc.

Can't make a team with no selection from any of top 4 ipl teams in points table. So, someone from CSK should be there.

 

Narine is a hot contender for player of the tournament or MVP of tournament.

SRH has bowled him in the PP in some games . Usually the first over.  I reckon his bowling must be better than likes of Markram etc to be given that role.
