I would name India as well... they will surprise us by getting to SFs instead of losing in first round as expected (or deserved)

India will cause upsets by winning over England , New Zealand . Followed by regular choke show , new faces for next wc , with kohli re emerging with sharma to claim their god given right to play in all formats , anytime , everytime .

Our media will be on a pr campaign. How pitches were unplayable , we were unlucky .

I feel usa and Ireland will cause upsets .

West Indies has been an unpredictable side at full strength I prefer to watch the calypso power over Aussie bullying .

KL Rahul is out of the side. His epic chokes in 2019 semis, 2023 ODI final affected the entire morale and mental aspect/prospect of the match . I see yasaswi jaiswal, dube , surya kumaryadav and red hot kohli in form doing wonders this time.

That "red hot form" and morale lasts only in the league matches. In the knockouts, they'll revert to form and fail as usual. Wish we had likes of Raina and Gambhir

Might be the first time that four associate teams make it to the Super 8.

USA, Scotland, Afghanistan, Bangladesh/Netherlands

Along with

India, Australia, West Indies, South Africa

I consider any team outside the top 8 that I saw growing up, as Associate teams  :bebored:

What you  consider an associate and what is reality and all that comes with being a full member are two different things but let's all agree with some random Indian who lives in his own little world when growing up .

It is my comment. Don't read it if you don't care

The term associate is now a genericisation used for teams that are not among the historically string sides in cricket.

No need to be such a Nazi about such little things.

I refer you back to my previous answer of dealing with factual terms , I am not interested in any shape or form of this fantasy nonsense of " ICF alternative facts " . I hate to break it to you but what ICFrs think doesn't cut it in the real world of cricket .

You are unnecessarily making this into a "fact vs myth" nonsensical debate.

It's just a random genericisation. A lot of Indians use "Xerox"ing instead of photocopying in their language.

Nobody cares enough to think about the differences between lower ranked teams and other associates.

The pitches have helped throw out the pretenders

India , Aussie are top 2 . The West Indies have always been a decent t20 team and South Africa have the most feared hitters

Afghans are a good team and in West Indies , they share strength with India in spin .

I like this t20 wc better than ever . No team taking its spot for granted
