19th ranked USA are not going to do jack.

This all is from my memory - I could be wrong though.

There was this guy Netravalkar who was a tall left arm pace bowler prospect for India - he decided to pursue engineering and do IT or whatever. Decided to forego cricket for India. Now he is playing cricket for US.

Yeah he is playing. Pretty good with the new ball especially for an associate nation.

Home conditions and guys like Corey playing for them. They can cause an upset or two

Somehow I think it's just BD being awful.  I don't think they can beat the Top 7 sides and even SL will choke them with spin.  BD have looked ridiculously poor.

Shakib looks past it.

Much like the I.N.D.I.A alliance in the ongoing election ?

Nah, INDIA (alliance) will get pummeled and get exposed, whereas India (cricket team) will somehow shamelessly squeak into SFs and get knocked out then

Even if we we make it to super 8s our group will have Aus and NZ, no chance against either of them. Another disaster campaign in WI loading, will be similar to 2010 T20 WC.

Surprised that people still rate West Indies in. It's 2024. Their one length hitgers have been exposed. They are no longer the most desired commodity in even T20 leagues. Their only chance will be on standardized T20 pitches where the gap between their and opposition's bowling quality will close out. But that brings many other underdogs in contention.

Will be better suited here than in OZ (last time) for sure.

I think they have a solid team and in their home conditions they are title contenders

Russell

Hetmyer

Pooran

Rovman Powell

Holder

Rutherford

Are all quality t20 players, they don’t have a good bowling lineup but home conditions will help

I think there are several of those. Am not sure if Jaskaran Malhotra made it to the final squad but he is one of those, too.

The US team guy who I will be keeping an eye on is Nostush Kenjige. Of Indian origin, but born and raised in deep South (Alabama), he is the quintessential future of USA cricket. Plus, I believe his family from Karnataka, so as a Bengalurian, there's a connection for me. Finally, his name - unique to say the least! How can you not root for a kid called Nostush?

That's an average line-up. All major teams basically are similar in terms of hitting (At the same time, no kne has complete bowling).

If you get Pooran out, leg spinners can run through this very line-up.

In the end, it depends on whether the pitches are conductive to bowlers or not.
