So like always too long a tail & no part timers to fall back on! Why do you think we've had so much more success in tests over the last decade? IMO we've been easily the best test side post SA's decline.

Dube has never been a half-decent bowler anywhere. In fact Abhishek is a better bowler than Dube. And you can even make case for others like Riyan Parag, Tewatia, Jaiswal,  Venky Iyer etc.

In WC2023 they lucked out again to win a very important toss. If they had lost the toss there they wouldn't have won the final. It was our fault for playing on that pitch (thanks Dravid) but they were still lucky to have won the toss.

 

They won the toss again in WTC final in 2023 which was a huge advantage. If they had India's luck with the coin, they would've had zero titles in the last few years. And if we had Aussies' luck with the coin, we're probably sitting here with a few trophies. Cricket is one sport where toss is extremely important - at least in big games. Best way is to have day games instead of day-night matches so that at least dew doesn't become a factor and there's some semblance of conditions being equal for both the teams.

He cannot bowl ...if axar pandya and jadeja are getting tonked ..do you think dube will be spared...he is poor mans Ganguly..he needs swinging condition to have a chance

He went an extra mile to make the pitch slower and more spin friendly. It was even worse than the one used for Ind-Pak game

A major change that we saw was Head in for the retired Finch. The rest of the team is more or less the same from the top of the mind recall. 
 

It is no surprise that Aus struggled in this format esp. with Marsh struggling for consistency. Don’t know how consistent Warner has been in T20s in the recent past but he could have been phased out too. 
 

Aus needed to send a relatively young team. In IPL, there was this 18 years old electric batsman playing for DC. Don’t recall is name - Fraser or something. Guys like those should have come to the Caribbean!

 

Who are the next gen players for Aus? And why are they not getting chances esp. in T20s?

Their seniors are the best in the country. Unlike ours.  JFMcG is unproven on decent wickets. Not the shite IPL pitches where every slogger looked competent.

 

The only oversight was maybe the lack of Behrendorff in the squad. Probably would have been a better backup option than Ellis .

 

Marsh made a stupid call to bowl first at Arnos Vale where nobody wins while chasing. 

 

If not for that , they would comfortably be in the semis.

Warner and Wade played one tournament too many. Should have retired last time. Anyway, Fraser is not proven and most of these current lot will be replaced by younger players by 2027 wc.  Their latest u-19 batch which won the u19 wc has so many international class players. Anyway,I won't complain much if my team have 3 ICC tournaments in all 3 formats playing away from home, something like which our team can only dream of...

Teams like Ind are unlikely to “learn” much, usually only changing when there is no other option. 
 

On the other hand, Aus stays ahead of the game, relatively speaking, so am a little surprised that they were not proactive enough.

For the record.   In the last 5 T20 WCs, Aus hv managed to reach the SF only once.   Fortunately, they were able to convert that one into a WC title.   But otherwise their record in this format has been pretty mediocre.

And that was in the "toss off" WT20 held in Dewbai where Aussies lucked out winning 6 out of 7 tosses. The only match where they lost the toss, they were hammered. They managed to win the toss in Wc2023 final as well. Luck has surely been on their side more often than not.

 

And here we haven't won 6 important tosses in our entire history

Had AuS lost toss in final like league match in chennai they would have been humiliated like league match. You have rightly pointed out there are few pitches in India and in Asia where toss play an important role. Aus girte parte final me pahuncha tha, they lost against ind,sa, won against nz by just 5 runs after scoring 388 , won against afg with sheer luck and afg inexperience and bad fielding as you usually loss 99% of time in such situations , same afg defeated them in t20. The final toss was the most important toss in history of cricket after pitch tampering by dravid and sharma. Had Aus lost the toss whole media and aus would have cried endlessly after loosing final.
