In the past, Rohit Sharma's slow starts used to put a lot of pressure on Dhawan and Kohli. He understood prioritizing individual stats from the top 3 was hindering India's performance. By changing the team's mindset, he emphasized aggressive batting from the start in the powerplay. He batted selflessly despite facing form dips in both the 2023 World Cup and this tournament, putting team success above personal glory.  Had he been made captain earlier instead of Kohli, I strongly believe India could have won at least 2 more trophies in the last decade.

His innings against Australia set the tone for this WC, just the kind of innings that Maxwell played against Afghanistan after which Australia never looked back and went on to win the WC 2023.

 

He made a big statement with his knock in that match and was hungry for a victory against the team they lost the previous Finals.

If they had gotten Head early on Nov 19 , Aussies were not winning that day either.

Very big if. What they showed in the super 8s, we have no idea, no planning, no tactics to neutralize Head atm.

more than bowlers it was captaincy. Head gave chances but there were no slips
