Take them with a pinch of salt but in the two FIH Pro League matches against Germany this year (both played in London)

We beat them 3-0 in the first

We lost 2-3 in the second

Last year

We beat them 3-2 and 6-3, both games in Rourkela.

Issue is doofus indian weightlifters. They do doping with cup of tea and then cry hoarse when they get caught and banned..

Issue is that "might is right". China has been cheating extensively and in fact even had a few underage athletes at Winter Olympics. Most of the US athletes like Carl Lewis, Jackie Joyner Kersee and others were using drugs but likes of Ben Johnson were called out coz he was Canadian and not American. Russians have openly flouted rules and in fact things were so bad that Russians used to replace urine samples from the testing labs. Yet no repercussions. It took Ukraine war to ban Russia, not the actual drug cheating.

In the past East Germany used to cheat quite openly. You have to take a lot of these results with a bagful of salt. When Chinese swimmer beats other by around a sec in 100m race you know the reason is not performance alone. We can dump on Indian weightlifters but the truth is there're probably lot of countries who've done much worse but get away with it coz WADA and IOC are no different from UN. They're all spineless organizations with one set of rules for the powerful and quite another for the others.

That's why I'm happy BCCI rules ICC but upset at the same time they're not making the most of it on the pitch. They should be hosting WTC finals in India and doing everything in their power to win us tourneys instead of only focusing on money.

Can only laugh at many of the athletics WRs set in 70s, 80s, 90s...many yet to be broken. Soviets, East Germans, Americans the biggest outliers.

The whole 70s-90s era was nothing but a drug bakeoff. And China has taken over the mantle. They're the modern day East Germany. It was similar to the baseball PED era where everyone was on PEDs. Cycling and Lance Armstrong did the same thing. It's sad that rule book is thrown at less powerful countries and everyone looks the other way when more powerful countries are under the scanner.

Federer missing Olympics gold will never stop stinging, He was at his peak in 2004, great year in 2012. Both missed opportunities, that too on favorable courts.

2008 no one was stopping Nadal, same with 2016 Murray.

Olympic Gold was the only thing missing for him. Now he has the career slam and good for him. A great player and probably the GOAT.

Oh Djokovic is the GOAT no question - esp if you have the most slams then you are the GOAT. Nothing else matters.

Esp for Nadal fans - no matter how many Monte Carlos and Barcelonas and Romes and even Madrids he won - those are irrelevant. He killed his body doing that and then after the whipping by Djokovic in the 2011 Wimbledon final basically wrote off that tourney losing to the likes of Rosol, Darcis, Dustin Browne, Gilles Muller or Kyrgios or even grandpa Fed in 4 sets in 2019.

Federer did win a doubles Gold. He could have won singles too in 2012 but Murray was too fired up at home, especially after losing Wimbledon F to him just weeks earlier.

Singles is the real deal for an ATG like him.

Problem in 2012 is what happened in SF, del Potro took out his legs in that match. Potro was such a big thorn to Fed.

It's quite well known that China has had a state sponsored doping program along with Russia. Around 30 swimmers tested positive for China while Russia had most of their athletes tested positive at some stage. It was so bad that last Olympics Russian athletes had to compete under Olympics flag but IOC didn't have the balls to either ban Russia or China.

Imagine what happens if an Indian athlete tests positive and makes the excuse that they "unintentionally" ingested the substance. WADA and IOC will just laugh and ban the athlete. However, not so for China.

Lol Americans are the worst dopers. Worse than China.

Believe aus do alot of doping. Afl rugby are rife with doping. So is even krikut but not to that extent. Will not be surprised one bit if aus swimmers and athletes dope.

Olympics don't matter as much as slams in tennis, as it comes only once every 4 years. Missing it is not that huge a deal.

Yeah that SF vs Del Potro was insane. The 3rd set took close to 3 hours! Wimbledon is notorious for not having a tiebreaker in the final set.

Federer didn't win any Monte Carlo and Rome or more French opens only due to peak Nadal(2005-11) on Clay. Lost more than a dozen finals to Nadal at just these 3 tournaments.

Only Kryptonite peak Federer had was his one handed backend vs lefty Nadal's monster topspin forehand. Nadal exploited it to the death. Federer did improve his backhand after 2014 but the rest of his game had declined by then.

Still early Fedal rivalry (2005-08) was the most watchable ever due to their contrasting styles of play and such high quality of tennis.

Their best ever match in terms of quality imo was the Rome 2006 F. Nadal saved multiple championship points to beat Federer in the 5th set tiebreaker.

Everyone cheats including US. Where do you think rest of the countries learnt how to do it?

India Don't have access to top tier masking agents if they use peds lol. But if they do they would usurp China relatively easily. And be on par with the likes of top 5 nations.

Emotion was pouring out after that win. It is one thing representing yourself. It is another thing representing your country.  Leander Paes gave everything when he played Davis cup for India.  There is a sense of pride that is associated with Olympic Gold.

I dont particularly like China but why is it a big deal only when Russia China chest. What about American donkeys brits etc. They all chest much worse with better peds and get away with it.

Imagine if india doped lol. The scenes. We all saw how they ref in Olympics.

Indalian board should just spend as much as China does. We obviously can afford to have a country wide sports program.
