Pakistanis actually killed or chased away all those people who could be good businessmen or could be good teachers or Administrators.

They are only left with people who are traditionally good at farming or fighting. Once the momentum from pre 1947 era is gone their industries, businesses, economy, education systems and a lot of institutions were bound to collapse.

In a way this is true and also shows the nature of conversion.

 

People who were higher up the caste system almost never converted as they didn't have any issues with Hinduism. People lower down the caste system did.

 

That's why Kashmir had Pandits but everyone else had converted. and even in Indian Punjab the cities have Hindu majorities (Amritsar, Ludhiana etc) while the agrarian rural areas are Sikh.

 

Most Pakistanis are converts of agrarian castes which are classified as OBC in india - jutt, gujjar etc. They have a lot of Rajputs too but in current day India Rajputs are on the same level socio-economically as a lot of the more dominant OBC castes. India's education/business sector is almost all Brahmin-Baniya.

 

Even in Pakistan, their entrepreneurial class in the early days of independence were Parsis and the mercantile Khojas/Bohras from Gujarat.

Actually majority of Hindus remaining in pakistan today are lower castes. Just look at the surnames of all their Punjabi generals and cricketers, all upper caste jatt names

they are mostly dominant obc/agrarian castes - jutt, gujjar etc.

 

hindus and christians remaining are mostly dalit (youhana was dalit christian). even dalit sikhs fled to indian punjab.

Am I the only one who is sick of looking at Nita Ambani on every broadcast. What has she got to do with Olympics ? It's like she is trying to make up for all the fame Tina has in early life. We will soon see a biopic on Nita showing her struggles in life.

Problem is we have plenty of talent. We have the attributes. Physically too. 

 

But we are 5th 6th 7th in many sports. Whereas Asian ones are top 3 in most events.

For our population, no we don't. We don't have 1% of the talent of Australia.

But see look at our gdp and look at theirs. Most canr afford to play most of these sports

 

Like rowing. Forget about it. Gymnastics. Mu daughter does it. Costs me 3 to 4 k a year almost. 

 

Yes we do lack sport IQ

 

But that will only develop with better coaching and facilities. Plus access to better standard of living.

We have a big enough upper middle class and rich population. Mentality is missing, have to fix that first. Encourage kids to take up sporting activities. 

 

Even in developed countries, you see so many East Asians participating in Olympics, no brown folks.

Hard to do that when so much of the diet is interlinked with culture and religion. Everything is a cultural war issue these days, so our policymakers will never touch it

 

People are trying to ban eggs from Mid day meals given in government schools. You cannot fix anything when this kind of mentality is pervasive in the country

Dude the swimming pool I go to, it costs  4.5k a month. It's heated but apart from that it's just a normal half Olympic size pool. 

 

The so called pools in apartments and gated communities will be tiny and not deep enough to swim.

Egg is one of the cheapest and best protein sources. Most children cannot digest cows milk very well and it doesn't give them optimum Nutrition. 

 

We always talk about the tyranny of minorities and minorities getting preferential treatment in India and sitting on our head.

 

This is the true tyranny of the minorities in india where 65 to 70% of the country is non vegetarian yet non veg food is banned in most places, we have more veg restaurants in places like Karnataka than non veg, nation wide chains like Reliance does not carry non veg items, people are allowed to discriminate non veg when giving house for rent, selling houses, hiring people etc, we have goverment days where selling of non veg items and meat is banned.

 

I am not even talking about beef, pork etc which has such religious hue and cry. But about simple eggs and chicken. 

 

This veg minority have been harming India for a very long time.

I like @Kron, always optimistic about India. But sometimes he takes it to the extreme, almost like delusion, being positive is ok but not this much.
