They are always dominant in Greco-Roman style. They have always been dominant in it. 

 

Iran, all the central asian republics and Mongolia are amazing at all martial art sports - including Karate, Judo and Taekwondo as well. Central asian republics are also amazing in Boxing.

All babbus and co will eat up most of the funding. Crumbs will be thrown to most sporting bodies. First need to fix that.

Moreso yes. But steroids helps overall with both. Physical and mental. Gives you more confidence.

With so many medalists in this sport, so much knowledge and experience, Chhatrasal academy can open regional centres in 4-5 other places, make this pan-India. In some form or the other, wrestling has always been in our blood.

 

Haryana needs maximum funding, not 1/10th of Gujarat which is zero in sports.

Maximum participation in all categories for Freestyle and Greco Roman is key for  building up a sustainable system.

From what I have been reading, Greco is on its way out from Olympics.

the problem is most indian wrestlers are home growna nd trained who train in akhadas in sand.. i know we've had medals with this but never gold. Why not bring modern trining methods from central asian coaches and see if theres a difference in results.

 

I think wrestling mats and halls should be mandatory in every haryana school. get them started young

Over 12 hours later, still feel gutted for China in women's hockey. Would have been such a historical gold beating this Dutch side, mother of all upsets.

We need to invest heavily in field events as well, shot put, long jump, high jump, triple jump and javelin off course. We can get medals there as well if we invest properly. Track events will be harder to crack.

i wondered how the hell indian women got beat by china and didnt qualify.. makes sense now. Chinese team has become gold medal standards but Indian women have not despite have a longer and better pedigree in the sport

Chinese women in hockey have almost always been much much better than the Indian counterparts. 

 

We peaked 4 years back, but historically are nobodies in women's hockey. Teams like China, South Korea have medaled before in Olympics.
