It was more like he was using it as an excuse to justify his failures.

A good strategist like Gambhir doesn't need these boring messages from Dravid, who got lucky with Bumrah's masterclass at the end of the WC Final. Dravid's outdated coaching methods were ineffective. Good riddance.

So glad that we moved on from Dravid. Absolutely no innovation and going with the same old. SKY and Gambhir have showed more innovation in the series against Zim and SL than what we saw for years under Dravid. That WC2023 loss still rankles.

Yeah amazing innovation by Gambhir in the ODI series which got us to lose to a team to whom we haven't lost for 27 years. Poor selection, outdated thinking, we were back to 90's in terms of approach as well. So no Dravid was a much better coach than GG with some pedigree while the latter has no experience . His angry outbursts on X or on interviews are not going to help him with coaching. Please show me the innovation in the ODI series, It was horrible to watch.

What excuse? No one can do anything for prolonged period in case of unavailability of key players. Events like Gabba are very rare exceptions.And he said it to Gambhir not media.

 

We've already seen Gambhir not doing much different either.
