I'm not a fan of Rohit but I think he did enough to give us the initial impetus. It's the other morons who need to continue the good work. No, inform opener should play like head. Pp bashing not enough

Pp bashing not enough Then you will not get a basher...you will get a statpadder. Head is able to bash because he has the surety that folks down the order will manage. Even Head doesn't always survive 25-30 overs...else he would have achieved way more 100's.

Basher also need to score 100+ score, atleast 80+.. when it mattered most he scored hundreds
tapandrun Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 (edited) Ind batters are not able to handle any kind of spin, neither can they hit 4/6 nor they can defend and play for 1s and 2s. Largely they are sitting ducks and it does not help when betters are not able to rotate strike over. None of them plays sweep shots, late cuts are hard to be seen. if you can not read spin the only effective shot is sweep but Ind batters does not have it. Eating up balls and staying in crease doing nothing is just that they are waiting for get out or throw their wkt at some point in time When was the last time that Ind batter counter atcked spinners. vvvslaxman Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 indian cricketers have so many avenues to get better at playing spin. so many guys woul queue up to bowl to you . Scruff up pitches an practice on those pitches. Ravinra has come fully prepared by practicing on different kind of pitches. Another example is shami who has variety of pitches in the ground he owns. He practices on them. tendulkar used to prepare with wet tennis ball from 15 yards before touring australia. These guys just do generic net practice. They don't indulge in custom practices. rollingstoned and BacktoCricaddict 1 1
Nikhil_cric Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 Monty, O Keefe, Kuhnemann, Hartley, Santner. In the era of DRS, we have struggled against SLA's.
maniac Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 We can’t handle swing and seam. We can’t play spin. Play against pace and bounce we will see this time around. Rohit, Kohli, Rahane were the only ones who could play pace and bounce comfortably. Rahane is gone. Kohli and Rohit have declining reflexes.Rahul and Gill are decent but they have a lot of flaws in their technique.Rishabh pant plays only one way so he may not struggle, Pujara was not that good either, he took a lot of punishment due to lack of technique even though his courage was admirable. Easwaran- don’t know he will last in Australian conditions Sarfaraz in Perth- not sure about that one. Gill-maybe but under pressure and wickets falling around him- again debatable. Pant- hit or miss Ro-Ko- declining Nitish Reddy- domestic rookie, don’t think he will do a lot even though has potential. Jadeja- Ashwin- also declining and batting in Australia at this age will not be easy.
