I'm talking about personal life because it took precedent over their professional commitments. Not missing IPL ever is a big deal as it shows they value their own brand and money over country when it comes to taking hard decisions. They can pick and chose what they want to play. It is upto selectors to decide if they are good enough . They are being professional to inform BCCI that they won't be available for selection. Yes they are choosing IPL for their brand value over country , that is the point of having the choice. They got that brand value because they were playing for the country for long time. Pandya does not want to play any other format except t20. It is his choice, to play or not to play any format.

Not really, Root and Williamson also took leave from tests bcoz of childbirth. Its just that their country doesn’t have jaahil people like those on our forums, so it never got the highlight and was taken very normally.

There is a long list of such young player latest Sarfaraz for Rahul You are forgetting one thing, the players you are complaining about were young players once. I have no answer why Rahul with his stinking avg of 34 is selected over guy like Sarfraz .But Rahul did not take leave due to child birth which is topic here. Edited October 11, 2024 by putrevus

I am not conflating anything.BCCI or people don't own them or their time. Why peons don't take leave for child births. Basic human right is being with their family at their most important juncture of their choice.Others don't get to decide what is important and what is not important for the players. If Rohit wants to miss Australian series , it is his choice. Choice works both ways my friend and comes with accouantability too. You're back to your dumb 'did any one stop..? putrevus Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 I don't understand some of the reactions, these players are regular joes who have families and obligations. This is not slavery where they are bound to do what their masters are telling them to do. There are selectors and coaches in place , if they feel these guys are not needed then they can keep them out of the team. Noone plays forever.

AKane Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Do we have any practice matches before Perth? Otherwise another disaster may be on the cards..... Rohit did not play the 36 ao match at Adelaide either.

First stop being a dumb ass to define accountability of other people. The players are good enough to know their accountability. They are doing in proper professional manner. If is ok female player to get leave for child birth then it should be okay for male player to be with his wife or counterpart.

Be smart enough first to learn what i meant by accountability before asking me to 'stop being a dumb ass'. If they can take indefinite leaves which go on far longer than necessary for 'family reasons' then it's quite reasonable that their commitment to the team will get called into question like it obviously should. If they don't want that then they should either not leave or just retire so no one gives a **** what they do. Again if you're not a brainlet, don't pretend to be one and give single digit IQ arguments. Female players needing to take maternity leaves when they're pregnant is a matter of necessity, there is not 1 good reason why the men should need to take months off for the same when they're airgapped from reproduction and are only perhaps needed for moral support when the delivery is happening. It's really not that complicated. raki05, Ultimate_Game and Lord 2 1

This is demonstrably false, especially when players can literally get canned for not playing domestic matches when board wants them to lol. If they want to do as they please then people and those who they are accountable to will also do as they must, it's not their baap ka jagir to come and go as they wish.
