I don't understand some of the reactions, these players are regular joes who have families and obligations.

 

This is not slavery where they are bound to do what their masters are telling them to do.

 

There are selectors and coaches in place , if they feel these guys are not needed then they can keep them out of the team.

Be smart enough first to learn what i meant by accountability before asking me to 'stop being a dumb ass'. If they can take indefinite leaves which go on far longer than necessary for 'family reasons' then it's quite reasonable that their commitment to the team will get called into question like it obviously should. If they don't want that then they should either not leave or just retire so no one gives a **** what they do. 

 

Again if you're not a brainlet, don't pretend to be one and give single digit IQ arguments. Female players needing to take maternity leaves when they're pregnant is a matter of necessity, there is not 1 good reason why the men should need to take months off for the same when they're airgapped from reproduction and are only perhaps needed for moral support when the delivery is happening. It's really not that complicated.

Its not about missing games, its about missing 'key' games. Both Kane and Root missed home games v easier opponents where their absence would not have been felt that much. Even Indian cricketers must have missed some games that way.
