EnterTheVoid Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 (edited) Old mate was in sensational form. Managed to get seats close to the stage. Pure luck more than anything else. Hit after hit for 3 hours. Some songs in Hindi, others were in Tamil. Some songs he started in Hindi and switched to Tamil. The crowd went wild. Some of the songs played: - Jai Ho - Muqqabla - Tera Bina - Roza - Maahive - Ish bina kya marna yaara - Kun faya kun _ Yeh jo des hein tera - Enna sonna - Dil se - Mustafa - Param Sundari - Taal Se Taal Mila - O Humdum Suniyo Re - Urvasi - Chayya Chayya On top of the above, there were half a dozen more in Tamil. EnterTheVoid Posted October 20, 2024 Author Posted October 20, 2024 This was just a small sample of his work. He could have included songs from Bombay, Rangeela etc
coffee_rules Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 Which singers accompanied him? His singing ability is not very good, imo.

But there were six or seven of them. I was wondering why Rahman wasn't singing in all of the songs. Than, I realised he was a composer 1st and singer 2nd. The songs he did sing, he was very good. He showed his vocal range in Chayya Chayya and the crowd went wild. The sheila that song Roza, she brought the house down. BacktoCricaddict and coffee_rules 1 1

Must have been his worst day performing…

Agree, have been to his concerts, he’s good . That was an off day for him. Concerts are great to attend. This year I had been to Sony Nigam concert. He’s very good EnterTheVoid 1

bowl_out Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 I attended his daughter's wedding two years back. A friend of mine sings for AR Rahman. Unfortunately, couldn't get a pic with him. He was swamped with guests. Mariyam 1
bowl_out Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 His concert quality has deteriorated recently. I loved his Oakland, CA concert 6 years back. But the ones post covid were poor quality, much fewer singers, and excessive use of his son (who can barely sing) Some pics from his Oakland concert in 2018. I was lucky to get first row seats in a houseful arena. Mariyam, nevada, EnterTheVoid and 2 others 1 4
Mariyam Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 IMHO these two are Rahman's greatest. In no specific order coffee_rules and zen 1 1
