A quick look at the LEGENDARY Indian batting lineup in 2024

Confirmed XI

1. Jaiswal - Star

2. Rohit - Can't last long

3. Gillie gillie akka - Can't play spin. Can't play swing. Only bounce - Might work in Aus 2024 or sink without a trace

4. Kozhi - lol (he could work in Aus 2024 tho)

5. Sarfraz - Looks like a solid player but too flashy with high risk shots. Unsure how good he is against good pacers on a lively pitch.

6. Pant - Star

7. Jaddu - Steady (hoping he is not over the hill yet with the bat)

Out of these 7, we are operating with 2 solid bats and 2 decent bats and 3 complete liabilities.

Rest

Sundar - Solid Potential

Ash - Will bat well once in a bluemoon

Kela - LMAO (if he bats well, he would score once per series and be a complete liability for the rest)

Jurel - Solid potential (not sure about his current form tho)

Out of the rest, only Sundar and Jurel look good (that too based on potential and past results)

Bottomline - Excluding lower order, our batting lineup is basically Jaiswal + Pant.

No wonder NZ have body slammed us at home.

If you get all out for 156 on a pitch where a half decent lineup would make ATLEAST 250...how can you hope to win any test match?

Now we are hoping for a miracle chase.

Even if we do chase this, it doesn't solve the fundamental issue that these dakkans can't bat.

Remember the twin whitewashes in 211 were mainly because our batting JUST GAVE UP. We never got thrashed badly in overseas even with okayish bowlers.

Once you are 100-150 runs behind by the end of first innings, everything falls apart.

Rohit and Kohli must be booted out. Sarfaraz will be exposed completely in Australia too. We saw his game in Bangalore against second new ball.

Jaiswal and Pant are the only quality players in the team and let’s hope Sundar can replace Jadeja in future. Jadeja and Ashwin are okay with bat on helpful pitches but nothing better although they are bowlers so we can give them a bit leeway.

We literally have NO batting lineup.

Just 2-3 bats and a blind hope that others will chip in 30-40 runs here and there.

Yes, this has been going on since 3-4 years. Complacency has set in with rescue acts by the lower order/all-rounders covering up for the weak batting. It's okay for 1-2 batsmen to be struggling for form but you can't afford to have terminally declined batsmen!

Just take a look at the dismissals in the 2nd innings...

Could have applied a bit more and 300 was guaranteed.

These are small puny things, doesn't matter for LEGENDS.
Let's talk about auctions, where will KL go ? will Rohit join CSK ?...this is what matters.

We got saved in aus because of a guy called thakur. Won us in Brisbane won us in oval when india were 127/7 he scored a 37 ball 56 and took us to 191. Those 30-40 runs was his gift which turned both matches in our favour.

Yes he has played some insane clutch knocks.

The thing is....we have soooo many instances of our batting flopping and getting saved by a single batsman or a combo of lower order bats.

Aus 2020 series - Poora series we were riding on luck (batting wise) and needed inspired performances which came through.

We were barely in control when we batted.

Iconic series.

Had Tim Paine been a half decent keeper, Aus could have thrashed us that series.

Easy wins in Sydney and Gabba.

As usual, we learnt the wrong lessons from that series.

Instead of tightening up our batting, we thought we could always ride out the luck.

Luckily for us, Eng 2021 batting lineup was EVEN more shambolic so our moves didn't get exposed.

By 2022, Eng had their lineup sorted....so they drew the series.
