Both BRICS and QUAD are doomed for a reason and India has realised it off late. China is just way too big to be deterred by US anymore. At least when it comes to other potential players like India their interests are aligned. We won't be allowed to grow rapidly nor industrialize. China is still barred from investing in critical industries- all those are investments have been rejected in the Congress - even under the Biden administration. BRICS and QUAD have been put in cold storage because President DJT believes in bilateral understandings where US has a negotiating leverage rather than multilateral organizations that work on consensus. So one can't say they are doomed, they may be revived in the future. China has leverage in rare earth and manfacturing in key industries, but it also has too many weaknesses of its own, its export led economy is still at the mercy of Western consumption. Nobody is obliged to ensure India's growth. India has to create its own leverage based on its population and consumption capacity - you want to sell in India and leverage it growing purchasing power ? Well, then Manufacture in India and partner with a domestic company, else be subject to non tariff barriers. Simple.

Per the article, China wanted a military base in Gadwar, Pakistan had a list of counter demands, one of which was nuclear second strike capability through submarines. The article claims the Chinese refused.

Yeah that's the case here.. China Pak relationship has somewhat taken a beating due to current "Pro US" Army chief and top brass regardless seems to be the point made in the article Edited May 18 by Lone Wolf

Yes... Got it after reading the full article. The article is entirely written from us-pak viewpoint... Would have been interesting to see it incorporate operation Sindoor

Pak land based options are limited by their geography. Once pinaka reaches 300+ km and is inducted in sufficient numbers i think land based launches of pak are going to be heavily compromised. Sea based nuke only viable option Lone Wolf 1

Sea based nuke only viable option Yeah Western nuclear detterance is mostly sea based for a reason as it is full proof and certainty in case of a doomsday scenario. Land based launches are mostly(not all) are silo based whose locations are mostly known and can be taken out in case of pre emptive first strikes, but taking out mobile launch systems is not easy as in case of war they can be on high alert rapid launch status.
