Yes, we are struggling for runs but those 35-40 runs aren’t helping us.

 

It will be a bit unjust but the problem is we are putting yo much responsibility on Bumrah, we need one more pacer and that can’t happen without dropping someone.

 

That someone should have been one of the seniors but that’s not gonna happen.

India don't have a choice. You need that extra bowler.  If Jadeja was pulling his weight as a bowler , then  we could have continued with this combination. 

 

Only way we can win at MCG is if we bowl first and a 4 seam attack relentlessly bowls 6-7 m length and nips out 5 wickets in the first session .

ofcourse they are helping us. It helped us cross 150 in perth and we ended up getting the lead. in Gabba his partnership with Jadeja went a longway in saving follow on.

 

Harshit can easily come in for Siraj. Heck we can drop Gill if it comes to that, why Reddy?

We were 140-6 in first innings when Reddy came in. if not for him we'd have been bowled out for max 180. No bowling can compensate for such low scores. If anything he needs to bat higher.

 

As for bowling, Siraj can easily be replaced by Harshit. Thats quality issue. Pick best 3 seamers.

Like I said, it's OK if we had a proper spinner playing.  You can't have a spinner who bleeds runs like Jadeja and then still play a medium pacer like Reddy as your 5th bowler.

Spinner not gonna do jack on these pitches, especially something like Gabba greentop.Even Lyon was largely ineffective.

Bowling has held up fine with this combo this series. Its batting that needs work.

 

Once top 6-7 can reliably give 200 runs between them, we can think of bowling.

Rohit & Kohli who are non performers with bat can't be dropped coz they belong to captain & brand quota.

 

To compensate them, performer like NKR may have to face the axe...else we are running to a risk of injuring our premier bowler. 

 

We have been sacrificing our bowling for our batting from quite some time so that the brand value and sponsor commitments be honored. As a result so many big tournaments are lost...yet we haven't learned a thing and are back to square one.
