gattaca Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Indian team bowled poorly in day one which had some assistance for bowlers wasted opportunities to get Australian wickets. We had a good wicket to bat on and missed that opportunity as well. Except jaiswal the runout Kohli should have sacrificed his wicket another mistake. Pant rash shot was another. Nitish and Sundar played really well. Did the team make too many mistakes ? The main culprit is Rohit sharma because of his field settings and bowling changes on day 1.

Majority of the mistakes are due to fitting in players in a 9 man team with 2 useless seniors hogging 2 spots. Remove the two passengers and you'll see we're not that far away from Aus. It's a 11 vs 9 contest at the moment. velu, gattaca and express bowling 3
Number Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Seriously man this test is such a lost opportunity. Since day 2 other than Cummins's ball to Rahul, pitch has been Rajkot style Patta. If Jaiswal, Kohli, Pant didn't do that madness we could have scored 600 runs here, could have sucked their bowlers dry and then give a chance to our spinners on a day 4-5 wicket. Strangering Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Mistake 1: Kohli Mistake 2: Rohit When you persist with these two, it creates a culture of lazy underperformance. You see it in the likes of Pant, Gill, Siraj and others. Kohli and Rohit squeeze the air out of media coverage. Lord and express bowling 2

We could have easily tired these Aussie bowlers and also won the test match instead we were fighting to save the match.

That's why I'm so mad at Kohli running out Jaiswal. Jaiswal was set and he was looking good for another 150+ score. We would've easily scored 500+ here and run Aussie pacers into the ground. Someone really needs to have a chat with Kohli that he has to stop running out his batting partners. He isn't scoring himself and by running others out too it kills the innings. Ultimate_Game Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 3 minutes ago, Vijy said: he is running others out due to taking inspiration from azhar mian I think it's due to his batting falling off the cliff and he doesn't spend enough time at the crease. That's why tailenders are poor runners and are involved in so many mix ups. It's not that they can't run fast, it's just that judging singles/runs is like a muscle memory and an acquired skill. The more you're out there in the middle batting, the better you get at it and it becomes second nature to you. But when you're not batting well and not spending time in the middle, you lose that skill or you become too anxious to score or get at the other end. This is what's happened to Kohli. It's not a coincidence his running between wkts deteriorated when his batting skills waned. He simply doesn't bat long enough and is almost like a tailender now even the way he runs. That's the reason players are encouraged to play domestic matches coz batting in the nets doesn't replicate all aspects of batting such as running between the wkts or watching the game from non-striker's end. Batting practice in nets is great for honing on a particular issue, or practicing against specific delivery or practicing a specific shot, but if you're out of form and struggling for runs, playing practice and domestic matches is the only option. But neither Kohli nor Rohit have done that and the results are there for everyone to see. Vijy and velu 2

vvvslaxman Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 From pitch reading to squad selection to team selection everything has been a mistake for a while. This is more prevalent under Rohit's captaincy. Ultimate_Game 1

Vijy Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 2 strike bowlers - bumrah and DSP. Akashdeep's body must be very fragile. and the other 3 were vastly underbowled.
