Even funnier that I predicted this is exactly what would happen and backed by the phrase "strict action". So replace a keeper who has underperformed by scoring 154 runs in the series with someone who has scored 11 and 1 in the one test he has played and the hurrah it's a winning batting combination !

With that culture, there is no way you can have a healthy team environment let alone a winning one.
lemsip Posted January 2, 2025 Author Posted January 2, 2025 Looks like the india media grapevine is strongly suggesting that Rohit is sitting out this match and Bumrah will captain. Now that would be a move that would make sense. If they have the balls to make that move then I don't think makes a difference who the keeper is - they can play both Jurel and Pant unless they want to make a show of sacking Pant. Jurel for Rohit would probably significantly improve the team combination. Vijy 1
Frustrated Posted January 2, 2025 Posted January 2, 2025 Rohit Besharma getting dropped would be good. But makes no sense if Gill (another loser) replaces him. Jurel would be a better option.

He has only played 3 innings in 2 tests in this series and has looked much better than Rohit and Kohli everytime he has batted. There is no case for dropping him before others. He has some technical issues to work on like most others but chopping and changing him is not needed. Edited January 2, 2025 by lemsip

Except that's not true at all, when it comes to seniors only one or two hold all the cards - started with MS & his CSK Luddites of course! MS dropped Sehwag/GG/Zaheer/Harbhajan relatively quickly once he scored that 99 in Nagpur, his performances as a bat were horrendoes & he was just biding his time back then. Same goes for BRat who threw Rahane/Pujara under the bus regularly although they were finally retired under RGS.
diga Posted January 2, 2025 Posted January 2, 2025 hopefully it sends a msg to the other lodu NRI sticking to his place
