Our batting is still a worry. Rabada, Jansen,Maharaj us a top attack.

Iyer or lower order won't save us everytime

That's why want to play Sundar in place of Kuldeep. Adds batting depth and also one less mental midget while bowling. I can see Jansen and Rabada take out Rohit and Kohli in the first 4-5 overs and that's why need batting depth to cover for the oldies.

I am not impressed with Kuldeep who has nothing to show for at the big stage. Be it WC2023 SF, F and WT20 2024 F. (He gives losers vibe much like Kela).

But not sure if Sundar's batting is an asset in LOIs.  He simply looks to block every ball.  Can neither rotate strike nor has big hitting ability against decent bowling lineups, needed at the death overs.  His style of batting maybe OK for tests.  And his bowling is quite mediocre. Simply a darter (Aus batters can easily disturb his rythm by playing reverse sweeps)

Sundar is not an ideal batter for shorter formats. Ideally I would've preferred somebody like Riyan Parag but he's the only option we have. He's way better than Kuldeep as a batter and at least can score a few. Plus he can bowl in PP and is not a mental midget. And better fielder than Kuldeep. So a huge improvement over Kuldeep.

If I am Australia, I am focused on Shreyas and Gill.

Even if Kohli gets a big score, he wont score at a high strike rate.

Yup, they're the key along with Pandya. Rohit is not gonna last long and Kohli has already played his one innings.

Wish we had Jaiswal coz at least one of Jaiswal, Gill and Iyer would've succeeded. Now it's just 1 of the two who has to succeed

Same team for finals. Kuldeep is better option than 4 over Arshdeep or Harshit.

Harshit may become a good odi bowler in future but for now I would give Kuldeep another go.

Nahin not Harshit or Arshdeep. Sundar should be played ahead of Kuldeep. Gives you batting depth and will bowl much better on these pitches, including in the PP overs.

If NZ reach finals, then maybe Sundar.

Even with SA. Sundar bowls pretty well in PP and generally gives you figures of 1/38 or some such off 8. And can add depth at 9. Kuldeep doesn't give you anything and will be targeted. Everyone can see he's the bowler to target and he doesn't take it well when targeted.

SA the team stronger on paper but NZ in good form and always works well as a team. Flat pitch will make the SA attack bit ineffective. NZ defeated Eng in similar condition in a big chase so probably slight ahead

If harbhajan was there Rohit would have played him as most obvious

Rohit is monotonous untill he's forced using forging press

Yup, Rohit is not that quick in thinking on his feet and making mid -tourney changes. This is where I miss Dhoni so much. Never seen a captain who was tactically so astute. He just knew which players to play at the venue and whom to back. Rohit OTOH goes with the same team irrespective of conditions unless forced to make a change.

Icc needs to look into this back 2 back icc events, there is no craze in the public now for these events.

v.few ppl are following the cup and only intersted as far as their team is there, most of the matches saw little to no crowds in the stands.

No1 had issues with washout matches in group b.

Hardly 2 good games.

There is no news about the things happening out-side the stadium then the actual games

2 big names (Smith and Mushfiqur) have retired already after CT exit, wonder how many more legendary players will call it a quit after the final match. Gonna be honest, it will be quite sad to not see the big names around anymore. I grew up watching these guys play from the begining to their retirement.

From India, I think it's pretty safe to say Rohit will most likely call it a quit, Virat (50/50) but I also think Jadeja will call it a quit too (and should).
