Salman is probably close second as Moulana Rizwan is simply more interested in theatrics. PCB and Pak fans need to stop pressurizing Babar to be like Kohli and accept him the way he is, his knocks of 100 (115) are way better than the so called hacks who will score 16(12) courtesy of 2 sixes, 1 boundary and then will hole out in the cow corner. The required rate was nearly 7 when they started. When Babar came it became 8. He still ended up playing less than run an over. What is the point stat oc padding innings like his and how did it help the team? . The other hacks can also play run a ball but they were trying to win the match, babar was just trying to stat pad.

Stokes would hv been run out by miles. Instead the throw hit Stokes's outstretched bat and the massive deflection (off his bat) resulted in 4 overthrows. I remember this incident. It was fine imo to give those runs as it was not intentional deflection nor was it obstructing the ball kind of attempt. I thought you were referring to something else.

You are expected to chase 9-10 runs an over in final 10 with wickets in hand. That motu Tahir and Tulla Irfan are culprits. Also their bowlers keep escaping criticism. It is blasphemous in Pakistan to criticize Phaaast bowlers coz it is their legacy singhvivek141 1
crictime Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 Babar Azam has strike rate of 88 similar to KL Rahul in ODI. Shreyas Iyer has strike rate of 100. At one point of time KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer could not even make the ODI squad. Whereas Babar Azam is considered by their fans as their best batsman.

He can't score 70(45), that's his limitation. Kane, Root or Smith too can't play 70(45) inns..they are also 85(90) or at max 85(75) kinda batters. It's the batters around them who have to play accordingly. The moment Babar departed, whole team collapsed. Sums up he has got no support. Anyway, 345 was still chaseable when he got out. 96 off 68 balls is still chaseable with 6 wickets in hand. The loss is actually on the bowlers and on Abdullah Shafiq who batted like a tortoise in pp at an SR of 73. Babar maintained a SR of 93 which isn't bad in ODI's.

That's coz India has options, Pakistan has none. Likes of Gaikwad, Rahul Tripathi, Hooda etc will end up as the White ball ATG's had they played for Pakistan.

Yup the depth they have and the kind of players they're producing is amazing, especially when you look at their population size. And most of the upcoming players are multi-skilled who can both bat and bowl. That's a huge plus and allows you to compete in any type of conditions.
Frustrated Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 Not sure what is worse. Pak team's performance or Paul Reifel's umpiring. Paul Reifel has shown incredible consistency in giving 2-3 shockingly wrong decisions in every game that he officiates in. How does he get away with such horrible umpiring for so long? This guy almost reminds me of Steve Bucknor (who was the primary reason DRS had to be introduced). New guy 1

tapandrun Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 (edited) The score card may not give the correct pic. here but, can not have so many batter playing at low sr chasing 320+ totals. The current way of chasing such total these days is to cut the runs required to 200 as soon as possible and as soon as that goes to 150-175 fielding team also comes under some pressure and can make mistake. Though the batting was choppy and edgy pak had a decent PP were able to get upto 6+ rpo, but once the 1st wkt was down babar took too many balls to get started he was 2 of 12 in a chase of ~350 that caused the wkt of the other opener. When rizwan and babar were at the crease it never looked like they are going to chase the total, it was similar kind of batting they did vs Ind in ct where they were not scoring at pace but not losing the wkt and once they tried they started losing wkt. At one point babar was 45 or something of 60+balls, the empatus only came when salman came in. It was matter of time when one of those gets out and game will fully tilt in nz side. This ground is not know for high scoring and the dimensions are v.odd too. this is kind of rectangle(ish) kind of ground. v.long straight boundaries (75+ m) and v small square boundaries that can get batters to play false shot. Pak needed brisk 30-40 from some1 which never came, nz also lost wkt in the last when they were trying to finish off their innings in style. Pak lost 2 wkts and that was done not sure how good an idea to plan to chase 90-100 of last 10 overs in sena cntry Edited March 29, 2025 by tapandrun crictime 1

Unlike some of the bowlers of the past they have no cunning and no plan on how to work a batsman.
