Only if India hosts Asian Games successfully will support a Olympic event in India.

We are not ready not even close.  2044 one should be the  target

@Gollum

Loot will be bigger than 2 centuries of British Raj.  Moreover when it comes to organization, we are worst in the world. Even 23 WC was a disasterclass with zero fan presence from other countries.

Anyway why the hurry? Prove in 3-4 consecutive games that we can win 10+ medals, then try. For the foreseeable future we will remain a sporting minnow.

We can try in 60-70 years time perhaps. But even then, not in Gujjuland, hosting place should have a semblance of sporting culture.

FIDE WC will be hosted in India in October-November.

Out of all venues, AICF has chosen Delhi that time of the year. That should tell you about the average IQ of our administrators.

Will turn out to be a laughing stock in front of the whole world.

Why are they so keen to see us humiliated in front of everyone :whack:

Beijing 2008 was a symbol that China has arrived & had signalled that Asia is back...  Decades of work was put into that moment.

Our jokers have no idea what these games are all about.

If we could sustain the current growth rates our GDP will be roughly around 8 trillion by 2036. That's double our current GDP. China conducted it's first Olympics in 2008 when it's GDP was 4.6 trillion. So we should be hopefully able to conduct the Olympics without any hiccups or minimal bad press.

And regarding the medals it would take a lot longer to get to a respectable total. We will be in the same boat as Qatar who conducted the FIFA World Cup without having any great legacy. All the sporting infra created will be useful for the future athletes.

Disagree with @Gollum that Olympics investment is a waste. I know for a fact that during the Asian games in 1982 , many schools in Delhi got swimming pools. CWG might be a collosal waste with scams, but Delhi got cleaner and many infrastructure investments in roads and bridges did happen.

Private investment is what is needed and is good for the economy. We can’t compare it to Paris or London which are already developed. A developing nation gets a boost with such economic activity.

Okay since then how many swimmers have delhi produced ( let alone India) that can compete at even CWG level? even CWG 2010 gave many new venues to the cities, how many are being used, 99% of them will be in derelict state now.

I agree with @Gollum, if you have billions of $ then invest it in your own infrastructure and bring more gold medals first. hosting the Olymoics by tukka and getting 3 medals is a bigger embarrassment

Compound archery included in LA28 games. Big boost for India, we are dominant there.

Also with addition of cricket, we must touch double digits.

Doesn't matter. She is in recurve where Koreans will sweep. Our compound team is entirely different, and medal contenders in men's section.
