If true that's great news! Hope Kohli is booted out too and we get likes of Sai in the team.

 

This should also extend to ODI team. Watching Rohit in IPL it's clear he's more than done. He played a great innings in the CT Final but that was more an exception than the norm. Get in Jaiswal and Sai in ODIs

At this point it hardly matters who is made captain cause I see everyone struggling and as a fan we need to be patient. New team will get its backside handed to them in England so people need to back them as its good in longer run.

Excuse. Bumrah broke down in Aus only because of TM's insanity. He can easily play 80-90% of our tests with properly managed workload distribution. Jaiswal or Pant can fill in for him for the tests he misses.

Bumrah as test captain is the only way we are going to win WTC or marquee overseas trophies in the future. He can rest in white ball formats.

I would rather they select Iyer as captain. At least he has shown he worked on his game and improved. Plus is a very good captain and makes the team better.

I sort of disagree. 4th test was the only game one could argue he over bowled. First 3 test , I think he was around 30 overs both innings combined. That's the least one can expect from any fast bowler.  Plus the gap between few tests thanks to early finish was 5-7 days. 

 

His availability for test is around 75% since 2020. I think he has too much on his plate, he shouldn't be made captain.

I agree. One thing I have been closely following this IPL is captaincy of Gill, Pant and Iyer. Pant has looked clueless in pressure situations. Gill I feel needs more experience. Iyer has looked strongest. Now all he needs to do is cement his place in test side.

These things add up. Got to be more careful in such a long series. Takes one test to break a quick down, like Archer in 2019 Ashes. Aussie trio operates a a unit. Here Boom was fighting alone.

Iyer in white ball definitely. No-brainer that he leads us in next year's home T20 WC.

Sky has zero pedigree in big games. Soft statpadder and age not on his side. 

 

Iyer has fired in 3 out of 4 ICC KOs, great trait.

Has some time for what? To flash at 7th stump and give catching practice? ODI is the only viable format for him now.
