US is ready to sell F-35

It is even proving too costly to maintain for USAF...  It's a junk at this point.  Even Musk called it useless piece of trash.

It's a well laid trap and be rest assured we have successfully denied Trump and his cronies.

If IAF and MoD and PMO want AMCA at war footing,  We can have first prototype in operation by even 2030.

In Short paisa lagega boss.

Will be very difficult to get anything before 2035 and rest assured HAL will deliver an outdated junk which will be way behind the techs which will evolve a lot by that time.

We can't let PAF have that edge for such a long time. Need to make some stop gap arrangements.

J35 acquisition is a propaganda at this point.. will believe it when I see it.

Even if they get those next year (unlikely case)... Nothing would pump MoD HAL PMO at once to fast-track AMCA... It would be blessing in disguise.

I think no one in the country is advocating F35 at this point especially not against Pakistan at least as it will come with too many strings attached with obvious kill switch.. backdoor stuff and what not.

There is argument to be made about Su57E.. but it would be us being too desperate and its production and acquisition will take a lot of time anyways.

No, unless there has been some updated news on this?

Only policy to sell F35 to India was to be considered for review, F35 is not really on the table.

What is India's response to Pakistan getting a 5th generation fighter?

What are our options?

Fairly poor but don't think Chinese maal will be full stealth..we need more extensive radar systems and anti air defense including more s400 to detect after they fire and shoot it down

.the missiles they carry are the same as Sindoor time and they don't always have super speed

.

So they are vulnerable....essentially for Pakistan..they are expensive and would be suicide mission after they fire. Preventing the first shot will be hard though as most likely they will have frontal stealth..so our s400 or high value targets are at risk ...essentially they will have to risk losing a plane to take out s400 or a  base...

Remember another fifth generation aircraft doesn't protect us from their fifth generation direct but improves our offensive capabilities in attacking them..however for defense we need layered air defense and radar systems.

I think the trip of Doval to Russia is on discussing the aspects of S-400/S-500 and SU-57 only.

Russia needs manpower to ramp up the production of military equipments..India has that.

There are some hard sanctions on Russia which restrict a lot of imports to it, that is causing delay in production of a lot of def equipments.

Sanctions are there...but we cant live under the Umbrella of US forever.

Russia has self dependent economy. So does China...India can do the trade with Russia.

It does not solve their geography problem. Any 5th gen aircraft would be stationed 300km from ths border.

So how exactly is this an offensive solution when your bases are open?

More delay on GE f404 engine:whack:... No way in hell we are buying anything from US from now onwards

This was always on cards.

Germany too failed to deliver engine for army.

There needs to be a 20 billion usd emgine fund.

And this is why india needs to access the product 30 or af51 engine.

Pay big money for tot. 30 billion usd payable over a 10 to 15 year period. This money infusion will allow the russians to keep producing viable jets n missiles.

Considering our gdp will be 10 trillion at that point. 2% of gdp will be 200 billion. 2 billion for tot and 2 billion per year on our own engine program is nothing.

Build amca using a version of af51 engine (refine it).

Long thread on Kaveri Engine, ray of hope, we might not be far away from succeeding in engine tech, but it needs funding and infrastructure.

US will never allow India to become so strong that it can crush its lapdog Pakistan.

Cancel the order from GE, take engines from Russia instead. West may call them unreliable and high maintenance, but atleast it will be readily available. Plus Russian jet engines arent as bad as China's.

Looks like for MK2 they will go with Snecma engines.

Pardon my ignorance; noob question here

We are a country that has sent probes to Mars and the poles of the Moon.

We have made fission and fusion bombs.

We can make high speed mach whatever ballistic missiles which are accurate.

We have weapons to shoot down satellites.

We have a modern drone program and anti drone defense system.

Why can't we make a jet engine?

Sending probes to Mars and Moon is easier than a jet engine.

Only a few countries have the know how US, UK, France, Russia, and China.  The elite club.  China recently after decades of pouring in billions and billions of dollars in R&D succeeded in making its own Jet engine recently.

This thread will help you
