Trichromatic Posted June 2, 2025 Posted June 2, 2025 Brazil is 10th largest economy with over $2 trillion GDP with just 20 cr population. Argentina is almost $700 billion. Colombia and Peru are doing well. What's going on in that region?

They're not reported by Western media, coz majority of South America is almost under the hegemony of US..and they dont impact US and the other European countries or Middle East does. Plus majority of Latin American countries are Spanish speaking with little understanding of English. The same reason why you dont see Spain & Portugal in the discussion as against Norway or Sweden.

You are underestimating how big Brazil is, out of 437 million total South Americans, 213 million are Brazilians and they speak Portuguese. Brazil is 8.51 million sqKM out of 17.84 million sqKM total land mass of South America.
