These knocks, especially this one coming under some pressure, will give him much needed credibility and clout with his teammates. Hopefully he will use it for good and keep learning to lead, rather than just follow seniors and GG.

Hopefully they move on from the debacles of NZ & Aus series and establish a new team under Gill . Tone down the expectations this year and next year we need to win every series

Yes. Like BD test series, or Eng last year.

 

Actually the pitch vs NZ in Bengaluru was good, just that 10 consecutive days of rain made first session impossible to bat, no idea why we chose to bat first. Then we needlessly panicked and prepared two horrible surfaces, GG overruled the players there and demanded going full retard.

We have three clutch batters in Gill, Jaiswal, Pant in the Test XI.

Adding two more will make it a great top 5.
