Strange thread. Bumrah had a very unique action, which produce a lot of stress on his body. His bowling can't be compared to likes of stokes. He is all format bowler and our chances in 2027 World cup heavily depends on him.

And we saw how rohit bowled him to dust in Australia and what happened thereafter.

You don't blame the manufacturer if you drive the Jaguar F type on Mumbai potholes all the time.

@putrevus, Kohli is a drama queen who simps to Pakistanis.

That is why he beat them the most times in all formats.Even in latest Champions trophy win , he scored 100 against Pakistan on last legs.

If Bumrah delivered even fraction of what Kohli delivered , India and Kohli would have had more trophies.

In both CT finals at 2017 and 2025, he flopped.

Don't know what he is capable of in his last legs, but he must have certainly scored a lot of Pakistani chicks in between their legs before settling with Anushka and becoming a maryada purushottam.

I wouldn't blame it on just Kohli, or Bumrah - JB choked in WT20 semis at home in Mumbai where BRat was the MVP throughout. CT 2017 final - BRat and JB both choked, same goes for 2019 WC semi & 2021 WTC in Eng.

He does not have to score every match. If all he flops is two matches in all CTs he played, any player would sign it.

Without him India was not winning 2013 or 2024 CT.

Try again.

Bumrah is a fantastic bowler and once in a generation one at that. We are actually asking him to retire at the age of 31? For what reason? Do we have multiple great bowlers waiting in the wings? You cannot compare Bumrah with Stokes. Stokes is an all-rounder who does not bowl a lot unless he is playing against some major teams. Some bowlers are workhorses who can bowl long spells, India had someone like Bhuvi who could do that. Siraj can bowl long spells. Some bowlers like Lee, Akthar, Bumrah, Archer, Starc, cannot bowl 8-9 over spells. Pathan being a bowler should realise that. Making every former player a TV presenter/expert has made the field pretty diluted. Not everyone who played the sport can be good analyst. Pathan seems to be similar to Sanjay Manjrekar who likes to praise opponents and put down our own players.

What Pathan said isn't a great analysis either. He is talking like those uncles sitting at a tea stall discussing cricket without any knowledge of the game and how it works.

Bumrah has played in 47 Tests and India have won 20 of them where he has picked up 110 wickets at an average of 14.5 with 9 5 wicket hauls. Lets look at some on Asia great bowlers, Wasim played 104 Tests and Pakistan won 41 of those, Wasim had 211 wickets at 18.48 with 13 five wicket hauls. Waqar had 14 wicket hauls in 39 wins. So Bumrah has done better or equal to other Asian greats. So why are we targetting Bumrah here? Pakistan arguably had a better Test team than India through Wasim's career as well. Teams winning depends on your backup bowling and batters scoring runs etc. You cannot expect one bowler to win Test matches. Lets look at Richard Hadley, who went through a similar phase in his career. He was NZ's best bowler in an ordinary team. Despite having a great bowling record of 431 wickets in 86 games at an average of 22. NZ won only 22 Tests of the 86 he played. This does not mean that he was a bad bowler or did not help NZ win. He averaged 13 with 17 fifers in the wins. Bumrah just has been unlucky where India have been messing up some good winnable games. The Drop catches haven't helped the team as well. Harry Brook dropped on a low score in the first innings at Lords allowed England to get to 387. So many mistakes and we start blaming the one consistent good performer in the team and want to drop him?

Please don't bring ODI and finals into this discussion. We are talking about Tests here.

When you have moronic fielders like Kohli Bumrah's stats are always goign to take a beating

2023 world cup final first ball.  Let us blame the bowler instead of dumbasses who keeps on droping catches of his bowling

0.1
4
Bumrah to Warner, FOUR runs

edged and Warner threads the cordon! Full, angling away, swinging away, Warner fences at it and edges it between first (Kohli) and second slip (Gill). Neither went for the catch. The ball rolls into the third-man fence

The irony of you stating this and then going after someone who takes a 5-fer once every 3 matches. Don't you see the contradiction in your logic?

Jasprit Bumrah Workload Watch… 86.4 overs

After the first Test, we reported how England’s batting success in that match had compelled India to ask Jasprit Bumrah to bowl 43.4 overs – quite a significant workload for a man whose appearances are being limited to three of the five matches due to fitness concerns. Fortunately, England’s batting was a good deal flimsier in the third Test, which meant Bumrah only had to bowl… um… 43 overs.

No seam bowler on either side got through more overs than Bumrah in the first Test and only inveterate fifth day masochist Ben Stokes bowled more in the third Test (by one over).
