Bumrah, Siraj are not built for 5 Test Match series

So glad to see Siraj get all the limelight he's always deserved. When he was taking wickets by bucket loads in those A tours in 2016-19 period ( @Sooda will remember he picked up some 75-80 wickets in 12-13 A tests or something) it was clear he was made for test cricket. In fact, he could have started playing tests from 2018-19, his debut was delayed. May he go onto to have a long rest career for next 5-6 years, and end up with 275-300 test wickets if not more.

Now hope BCCI/ Gujarat Titans/ sponsors book him (and Bumrah) for a long 5-6 week long beach vacation to the Carribbean or somewhere similar to put their feet up till the next test series.

Siraj and Shami must guide our youngsters with their fitness regimen. I know Shami went the old school dehat way to get fit few years back. Siraj looked a but bulky at the start of the series, wasn't sure, but what a surprise.....reminded me of peak Siddle.

Earlier also, Siraj used to last the whole series but not at full intensity, often it felt like he was simply going through the motions. Here he surprised everyone, he may never repeat this feat again, that's how special it was.

Man I really wish we can get a few more years out of Shami.

Other than that need to build a good pool of 4-5 - Prasidh and Akash have raw tools but need to get better which will only come with experience.

Kamboj shouldn't be discarded with. He is young and tall and these tall trundlers can come of use in certain conditions.

Siraj's highs are high. Just need to be more consistent, especially at home.

Series winning 5fer in Australia. Series drawing 5fers in England and SA.

Probably flexible. Cummins , Brett Lee have mentioned about not overdoing weight training. Flexibility is the key much like it is for Tennis players. If you look at Nadal work outs most of the time it is stretching. Stretching is done to prevent injuries.

Rafael Nadal's stretching routine is a crucial part of his training, focusing on injury prevention and enhancing performance. He stretches extensively before, during, and after practice and matches, aiming to keep his muscles and joints supple and ready for the physical demands of tennis. This routine includes warm-up exercises to elevate his heart rate, activate muscles, and mobilize joints through dynamic movements. YouTube · Pro Player Training Zone

Key Components of Nadal's Stretching Routine:
  • .
Nadal dedicates significant time to stretching, including before and after practice and gym workouts.

  • .
He performs warm-up drills to elevate his heart rate and prepare his body for the physical demands of tennis.

  • .
Nadal incorporates dynamic stretches, like plyometric jumps and sprints, to improve flexibility and range of motion.

  • .
He focuses on specific stretches for areas prone to injury, like his shoulders and forearms, to prevent issues like tennis elbow and rotator cuff tears.

  • .
Nadal includes core exercises like planks and Russian twists to improve balance, stability, and stamina.

  • .
He stretches after workouts and matches to aid in muscle recovery and reduce soreness.

  • .
Nadal uses resistance bands to strengthen and stabilize muscles, particularly around his shoulders and knees.

Why Nadal Stretches:
  • Injury prevention:
Stretching reduces the risk of common tennis injuries like tennis elbow and rotator cuff tears.

  • Enhanced performance:
Stretching improves flexibility, range of motion, and muscle activation, leading to better performance on the court.

  • Increased mobility:
Stretching helps Nadal maintain the agility and quick movements required for his aggressive playing style.

  • Improved recovery:
Stretching after activity aids in muscle recovery and reduces soreness.

So true. He debuted 2 yrs too late. They really made him slog in domestics. Glad to see him do so well.
