He is a travelling reserve along with Prasidh, Washi, Jurel and Jaiswal.

 

I think that shows that he is right after Dube and Rinku  in the lower middle pecking order and he bowls offspin and is a very good fielder as well. 

 

Apart from the Gill selection , I think the squad has been well selected.

Iyer, Parag and Jaiswal are missing out. 

 

Iyer/Parag are flexible batters who can fit No.4, 5 or 6.

 

I know its T20 but Jaiswal is simply a better batter than all of Abhi, Samson and Gill. I know Abhishek has better strike rates, but if we let both Abhi and Jaiswal bat together, I believe Jaiswal will have better returns. 

 

Everyone who missed out needs to focus and continue to work on their game. who knows when opportunity comes.

Dube can go... and if Rinku does not perform, he can go as well. Jurel and Jitesh are both not needed with Samson being there. 

 

Parag can replace Dube easily.

Parag has issues with his hitting technique where he jabs in place of having a good swing of the bat and hence can not impart a lot of momentum when bowled at certain lengths like short ball or out side off.

 

Shashank (Pk) can be looked at that role of finisher he has shown in ipls - now 2 seasons in a row. He can play all around the wkt. Is a quick outfield fielder.

 

Rinku is not that tall and hence has limitations and specially when his role is finisher, there are many ways a good quality bowling line-up can block him. Lately it looks like his role is more when there is a mini collapse and he can rotate and save some of the other batters who can hit the ball.

 

Mentioned this multiple times Ind needs a finisher at last 3 overs, they have been losing the gas in those 3 overs.

He might be better player of Pace bowling as he is a test regular but Abhishek is a superb ball striker against high Pace.. might have better range as well.

 

Jaiswal is more traditional plays within his crease and hits mostly square of the wicket.

Abhishek is more all round off the two.

They can't even if they wish to as almost all of the nations have come into terms with go bang bang from start to finish approach in t20s , suppose if they do it,they will loose most of the games including WC games which will hit their PR and broadcasters will kick their backside relentlessly

Already won 2 ICC events recently, think broadcasters/fans will be fine if we have another 10 years drought. We don't have the compettitive urge to dominate/excel in any sport like Aus or USA. BCCI's funda is also to mint money by doing bare minimum. Because of reducing competition we will always be a top 4 team and they will sell the churan of us making SF/F in all events. Cricket's spot as entertainment outlet is under no threat, in fact will only grow as IPL becomes bigger, and our film industries continue their downward spiral.

Cricket is not the only be all end all thing for the masses now,as I have already said many times here Gill won't get the leverage like Dhoni Kohli got,people now crave more for trophies for bragging rights

It all boils down to ICC trophy wins now,IPL is different thing it is only successful as long the national side stays competitive,people are going nuts over local stars more

Another thing is that the mad craze of a young IPL cannot be repeated. It was once a new experience. Now, kids grown up watching it won't find it special, just watch it out of habit.

Dube is a must in this team. If India play 3 frontline spinners like they did against England , then Hardik will open the bowling and Dube will be the 3rd seamer to bowl maybe 2 overs.

Nobody is saying he should. They are only saying that he would, give that he is VC now.

And if Sanju goes out of the opening spot, his only other chance is at 3, which means either Tilak moves to 5 or Tilak sits out. Because SKY will play at 4.

 

If Sanju goes out, Jitesh will play
