Is it worth living in USA?

I lived in the US for 13 yrs (studies and life). Happy to have been back home. You can only be a 2nd class citizen there. Lived most of my life in the South. I know how much they hate non-whites there.  Boston wasn't much better. People who live like kings in India live like beggars in the US. They just want to boast that they are there. I have seen how the majority of people in the US live. Even earning well, they live like crap. Their kids hate their parents culture and are pretty much out of their lives after they grow up. Most ppl just stay there for their kids. So many ppl have trouble with the 2nd gen kids growing up confused and rejecting their parents culture, language, etc. not to mention the mistrust and derision the ppl around them have for Indians. 

 

I am happy living in my own country with whatever problems there are. Tbh, on a personal level as I mentioned before I have achieved more career growth, personal success and happiness here. I travel abroad for a change when required.

I think living on an h1b for decades, your better off in places like uk aus canada.

 

Keep in mind, these countries too are now clamping down on immigration.

Wow. Surprised to read this. Never felt like a second class citizen in the US. My guess is you were very unlucky .

Most people are oblivious to the racism. 

 

If you were around after 2001 - you would have heard a lot of sand nigger comments at you. The worst were from the black folks. Of course, most people are willing to put up with it because of their desperation to fit in. 

 

I've stayed in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina. Racism was overt in SC... but more subtle in Georgia and Florida. IMO the worst was in Mass where ppl pretend to be covert. They like to sugarcoat their condescension.

And well done @bharathh .. it must be a leap of faith to return home. Just stay away from shitties like Bengaluru/Hyderabad in a spacious home. You will be all right.

Life on a h1b is full of pressure man. Many telugus work like Dogs to stay relevant and prevent detention back home.

Actually i dearly want to spend some years in UK. But not sure i would find a job here. I hear job market is very  bad in UK.

Yes, best country on earth. I often take gigs or short term roles in US. Once I lived in Arizona for 15 months and it was just amazing.

errr..Hyderabad is one of the better ones in India. And Bangalore the top choice for OCI returnees.

I found US to be quite chill during my brief stay. It's crazy expensive though with all the insurance, bank fees etc. The country is designed to make you spend excessively.

Off topic but lot of Indians are engaged in practices that would make Trump going hostile on H1B seem justified.

As I said earlier, india is not at all suitable for people that value trust, order, inquisitiveness and cleanliness. I am one of them.
