Almost all these goris have background in contact sports including the really rough ones like rugby, Aussie rules. Sure, not all of them played at the highest levels in these other sports, but they have used more muscle groups, movements and it shows in cricket as well.

Lot to learn from them, we have all the skill/talent (maybe even best in the world), sure fitness/fielding is lagging, but one thing I want Indian cricket to learn from Aussie system is the ability to always play fearlessly. Phattus never win anything of note. Yup the three out of the four times we have beat them in knockout games. Sachin and yuvi blitzkrieg in 2000 CT SF Yuvi/dhoni blitzkrieg in 2007 T20 SF Rohit blitzkrieg 2024 T20 SF 2011 WC QF was the only exception where we played a sensible game to beat them. Gollum 1
Forward Defence Posted October 30, 2025 Posted October 30, 2025 Sree Charani strikes. But Aus have more firepower down the order
vvvslaxman Posted October 30, 2025 Author Posted October 30, 2025 India doesn't have pratika. That is going to be a problem. Hope shefali flukes a 100

vvvslaxman Posted October 30, 2025 Author Posted October 30, 2025 Perry has an imposing batting stance. Bit like KP with less wider stance
nitinbwj Posted October 30, 2025 Posted October 30, 2025 Why the fukk do we have these pattas. BC nothing on this track.

Sachin also hammered them in the 1998 mini WC in Dhaka, entire event was in KO format. 2011 WC we played sensibly but even there , Yuvi and Raina took calculated risks, never backed down in a high pressure situation. Even in our bowling innings, Dhoni was brave enough to play a then rookie Ashwin and open the bowling with him, and he dismissed Watson who was their most dangerous batsman at that time, especially on SC pitches. Aus is one team who you have to be brave against. % cricket rarely works against them in the big stage, that is why NZ never troubles them. Gollum Posted October 30, 2025 Posted October 30, 2025 Best case for us from here on is to restrict them below 320.

India should not go for wickets. Just keep them on a leash. Let them make mistakes. Going for wickets will make them bowl filth.

Gollum Posted October 30, 2025 Posted October 30, 2025 I will be delighted if Shafali scores 30(20). At least give us a quickfire start so that Mandhana can settle in nicely.
