Odi captaincy will be tossup between Iyer and Gill

I believe although paindu (Gill)but selectors too think Iyer will be suspect against bounce in SA ,so they have gone with a safer option (Gill isn't any superior either)

They don't even want to pick iyer in playing XI. That strained relationship with Gauti will continue hurting Iyer. Remember Iyer saying that he would not have played but for Kohli's injury in CT.

Gill is not that bad choice as a ODI captain.  He has terrific ODI numbers as well.   His cut and Pull game is on point and he will do well in SA in 2027 being a backfoot player.

Only issue is he is being force fed to us in T20I.  Even Priyansh Arya can work over him there.

Personally not a fan of Jaiswal in T20I either.

Selectors should keep him away from T20I.

What do these bozos see in Sundar in white ball? Granted he is going to be one of the all time greats in tests, probably Jaddu's successor...but in white ball, seriously? Parag a much better option.

Mixing formats as usual, his last test hitting was mind blowing though vs Eng

May have influenced selectors

I dont feel sorry for Kohli and Rohit, they had a golden opportunity to retire on a high after winning 2 trophies but they are still hanging on even though they dont play any cricket except IPL .how are the selectors  going to assess their ODI form?

Yea.. not sure what is the point of retiring from one format at a time.

Happy to see Siraj back in ODI setup. White ball seam options are a definite concern

Bad , bad move. Absolute worst.

India won 2 whiteball trophies only after dropping him from the team.

As far as ODI cricket goes well need to adopt the approach of Aussies in the 2000s.

Pack your side with batting allrounders in the middle order. Guys like Pandya, axar, sundar along with the likes of 3 proper bowlers. That's the way to go.

I hope rishabh pant becomes healthier and replaced that eternal panauti kela raagool from the side.

I'd anyday take an one legged Rishabh pant over him.

He was there in 2024.

India need a PP option.

He was not in the T20 WC playing 11 and in the champions trophy playing 11.

ODI-

Could be in - Tilak, Dube

Could be out - Rohit , Sundar

Literally no point of Rohit when he is not captain anymore.

Axar is the Jadeja replacement. We dont need both Axar and Sundar.

T20I -

Could be in  - Parag

Could be out - Sundar

Feel Sundar is waste of a spot in T20.

New players are coming up. They will push some of these out. There will be constant pressure to perform now in Indian team..
