I think he looked muddled in this match as did the whole team. No one seemed to have any clarity about what their role was in a chase on a tricky surface.

I would cut Pant some slack as this was his first game back after a long injury break and this was the first test in 2025 in which he has failed to score at least a 50.

FOrget about Pant's batting. Let us talk about Pant the captain. Wasn't he the captain when SA A chased down 400 plus with ridiculous ease?  I have seen his daft captaincy enough times in IPL  as well. Hope we don't continue with him as a vice captain.

I thought Jadeja was the vice captain. When did it change to Pant?

He used to bat at slow strike rate in t20 too but he improved little bit but in 50 over he still batting like sloth

I thought Tilak Verma will use this series to put himself into contention for odis but looks like he has not done himself any favors.

He has had this issue for 2-3 yrs. I remember in some odi in SL a few yrs ago he was struggling big time whole series. In t20s teams are not bothered to stop singles so there are more gaps.
