I expect a upset for India against South Africa .

South Africa are well prepared after playing test series in Pakistan and have won the 2nd test.

They would be playing 2 practice match against a strong India A.

They would be well prepared by facing quality spin.attack of Suthar,Dubey,Kotian .

South Africa  have a very good spin attack of Keshav Maharaj,Simon Harmer and Senuran Mathuswamy.

its not an upset at all,SA are the best team they have the better 11 by far.our best bet is not preparing a turning track and wear them down over 5 days.

Bavuma is back, big boost for them.

But I expect Indians to raise their game and win 2-0. Young, high potential team, and very hungry as well, what better way to make a mark than sweeping away the world champs. 2015-17 India was similarly placed and made its mark in SL, and then against all SENA sides at home

Our batting will be up against it though, heard that Rabada bowled well in Pak without much luck. Watch out for him in Eden which will support pace. Next couple of months is a treat for all cricket fans, Ashes, Ind-RSA, but of course biggest treat is for Kane mama as WI bakras are coming to offer their heads to him in a 3 test series.

SA is a well rounded side. India is still in transition phase post Ashwin at home.

KD-Washi-Jaddu trio is still good, problem will arise when Jaddu too retires.

But yeah, peak Ashwin-Jaddu can never be replaced, it was like playing with 12 men in all our home tests. Present Jaddu is a great MO batsman, but Jaddu of even 2-3 years back was an elite matchwinner and more impactful with his bowling.

How dearly I want this to be a 3 or 4 test series. 2 is just too less
4 Test series in below stadiums would be fun.

Dharamshala (pace friendly)
Hyderabad (spin friendly)
Kolkata (pace friendly)
Mumbai (spin friendly)

Something for everyone.

Jaddu is not the Jaddu 3 or 4 years back.  Ashwin had carrom ball variation. Something Sundar doesn't have. He has to rely on conventional wicket tkaing means. He has drift though. Kuldeep will be more handy on red soil than black soil

Hope Gambhir select Kuldeep or he will pack the side with spin bowling allrounders in.Jadeja,Axar,Sundar.

Sundar has to take the 2nd spinner's load now. We should also look to introduce Sai Kishore,Kotian etc as backups

All depends on the conditions in Guwahati and what type of pitch they make.

If saf win the toss and choose to bowl 1st in Guwahati ,they might well get India AO cheaply by using the early morning conditions to their full use.

But I believe saf are all set to get a sound beating from this strong Indian Side !

Hope we prepare some turners ,I believe absence of Roko has made this team much stronger from the batting prospective ,we have good batting depth and this side can play on turners

Confession: I don't get too worked up about a SA series.

Among the top teams, playing against Aus, Eng, even NZ is nerve-wracking.

But, playing against SA? Of course, I want India to win, but it don't get all angry and upset if SA win. Anyone else in that boat?
