All 5 pitches were excellent. 
 

All our pitches for home test matches need to resemble this series. 
 

It is not rocket science. 
 

We are screwing ourselves over massively by asking for rank turners!

Not the first Test. The other 4 Tests had very good pitches. 

 

Not sure what's so hard about preparing such good balanced pitches

First test was also an excellent pitch. Bumrah among the wickets, two 400+ innings, Pope 196. Pitch turned sharply only later on which is expected anywhere in SC. Anyway that wasn't a tough chase, India can't chase anything even if the surface is concrete, problem is mental.

Test cricket is really boring most of the time in India compared to watching it in Australia or England. Pitches are one of the reasons, along with air quality, stadium, fans, and many other things.

WHenever our pitch gets criticized we use whataboutery argument. Fair enough. But we must also admit it must meet basic standard. Pitch preparation has to be identical. Should not allow industrian fan usage, lack of watering, leaving excessive grass to negate 4th and 5th day assistnace fo rspinners.  Most of the recent fiasocs (including world cup final) was down to this stupid pitch preparation.
