India cannot make good enough war movies in this day and age... Accept and move on.

It's not a Bollywood alone thing.

A 60 year old Bhoi playing a 30 something year old Army man is comical beyond measure already

Hope Ikkis is good, about Arun Khetarpal, 1971 hero.

Dharamji's last appearance. Big B's grandson plays the lead role after his dissapointing debut in Archies. I trust the director, Sriram Raghavan (do check out his filmography), so some hope.

They played the trailer of Ikkis along with Durandhar in Hyderabad PVR. There is that "Sarva Dharam vadaa paav/Pakistani are good" monkey balancing there also.

Hopefully such scenes are cut from theatrical release, I want to watch this movie.

Amaran/Major were good.

I heard Lakshya was good too.

Yeah, good choices. In recent times, I liked Ghazi Attack as well, Rana Daggubatti, KK Menon. About the sinking of PNS Ghazi (tasked with destroying INS Vikrant near Vizag) during 1971.

OG Border remains India's most iconic war movie. Based on Battle of Longewala, in the desert.

Also features one of the greatest songs in Indian cinema, Sandese Aate Hain.

That's a great movie. Even though cinematic liberty was taken in war sequences, it potrayed the emotions of soldiers very well.

Interestingly his highness akshnay khanna was in Border. Man, he has been there for long time.

Dude's got amazing filmography, so much variety.

Border

Taal

Dil Chahta Hai

Gandhi, My Father

Hungama

Hulchul

Race

Tees Maar Khan

Mom

Drishyam 2

Chaava

Dhurandhar

One of the best nepo products.

For me Sarfarosh was way superior movie to Dhurandhar except some misplaced songs and romantic angle. In fact, it is one of few Indian films which hold up both technically and in terms of narrative. If was pan India going in depth into how your enemy uses the fissures in your society.

Time will tell if Dhurandhar holds up. My sense is that part 2 will decide.

LoC Kargil, Tango Charlie (especially the North Eastern leg) were some of the good ones as well.

Off late I haven't been impressed with the Indian war movies.  That vibe and soul is missing.

Hrithik's Fighter had so much potential but they messed it up. CGI was ok for an Indian movie
