Airline market is duopoly in India. I doubt ministry can do anything. Indigo and Air India. Suddenly people have forgotten crash few months back. raki05 1

What has this to do with foreign ceo? This is going into territory of wild conspiracy theory. Also, indigo has cracked the market where kingfisher, deccan and others failed. They are profitable. Let them operate the business as they want.

Let them operate the business as they want. mandatory rest hours for pilots were increased as a safety measure. Rest hours were less in India compared to other countries.

They are surely not skimping on this aspect. The issue is that govt has started to regulate fares. So airlines cannot raise prices to cover for pilots also now. Let govt allow airlines to raise prices across the board.

The profits are wafer thin. And it is capital intensive. You have to buy/lease many aircrafts. And our market is price sensitive. Not many survive.

Arm twisting the govt by doing this knowing they have 60% market share. Ideally their license needs to be revoked and all decision makers put in jail for pulling this bs. Other airlines saw this and jacked their prices 3-4X seeing this as mauka DGCA, Civil Aviation Ministry has been found sleeping. They have too many night Flights and they got imlacted badly by the rule. Also we are getting only one side of the story. Let's see what indigo has to say. What difficulties they have in additional pilot recruitment.

They knew long before they won't be able to fly. But didn't bother to inform passengers. Because if they did, there would be no ruckus and they couldn't arm twist govt into giving them extension. They have only offered fake apologies so far. No reasons give in all this time. On ground refunds arent being processed fully and luggages are being lost ravishingravi and MechEng 2
