Not that hard to read but works well specially if the batter has not played him enough. Good spin bowling line-up from pak suited for SL conditions, Abrar with mystery spin, Tariq is also mystery spinner (think he is going to play vs Ind), then allrounders in Nawaz and Ayub. This could be the best looking spin line-up right now. Yeah batted well today. He is not a powerful stroke maker neither a overly talented batter that Pooks portray but he can be a 150-160 S/R batter for them in PP. But his bowling is his actual strength. I thought Asia Cup was an aberration (he bowled so well) but on these slowish tracks he is a genuine all rounder.

With white-ball batting he may not be able to match or come close to modern day batters specially in t20s, but for what Pak has he is v.good. He is an ideal white-ball off-spin bowler, he is a batter who bowls off-spin, because he bats does not have to nessasrly bowl every game or even when he bowls 2 overs are good enough , then he has bowl that spins away frm rh batters. So its not like he is just going to dart in to rh batter. this is a prototype off-spinner for white-ball cricket. And Ind is trying sundar, in no combination sundar's inclusion makes team stronger all it does is to deplete the side. Edited January 29 by tapandrun

They are preparing for slow low sluggish surfaces of SL and have gone with similar surface at home Pakistan's best chance comes on these kind of surfaces As the event progresses surface looses it's pace and becomes perfect for them As you noticed in Asia cup,it got slowest in the final where they made a match out of 140+ total,on those slow surfaces change of pace for pacers also yields success Edited January 29 by Suhaan

Asa cup is not a good example, apart from Ind none of them were even close to top t20 side and few are not even proper intnl sides. Edited January 29 by tapandrun

India were playing a long long lineup that day with Axar and Rinku still in. I'd say they were good for 20-25 more if need be.

SL pitches with low clayey content in their pitches are infact low, infact silt is found more in it On Asia cup,I wasn't talking about quality of tournament or sides,I was talking about their progression, with passage of time those slow surfaces become even slow and bring pakistan into the game as we saw they did bowl well in the second innings with the pitch getting slower and slower

Yes,you pace your innings with target in hand That is not the topic of discussion here,I said pakistan fairs well in slow turners True wickets, you will find sides having batting firepower fare better, these slow surfaces just fill the gap between sides that too in t20s

The pitch for this particular game was slow and low, v.diff for v.tall aus batters who are in-tune to hitting 6s , once a pitch is slow, low, and turning it makes stroke making v.v.difficullt. Yes,if pitches are true slow turners means their nature remains intact across two innings that will certainly create problem for them too if they bat 2nd thinking they have done well restricting opposition under 170-180 Below 160,they will back themselves to chase it without taking much risk Edited January 29 by Suhaan

Think Aus is only playing 1 full time spinner in zampa, this wkt is totally diff of wht it was in CT- Easy pace and bounce wkt, this one is slow low and turned. Pak got a decent total by having good pp Edited January 29 by tapandrun

Cummins isn't that good in T20 but don't see them hacing similar PP vs Hazlewood and Ellis (who was very good vs us as well).

putrevus Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Looks like Pakistan might have found bowling attack to win these low scoring games in SL.
