Infra and general liveability is downstream from a lot of things other than just pci which people don't seem to get. It's very simplistic to think pothole free roads alone means being richer for even in India many lower income areas are clean and have good roads comparable to certain metro areas. These pixelates pci figures will show that pakistan was once comparable to us or that we were once comparable to China ignoring a lot of other things just like people saw it and Believed kangludesh was the shining eg. In the subcontinent once which also deserved to be treated with derision then. And PCI and GDP stats themselves have their flaws. Our own gdp suffered from 3 wars, a refugee crisis and extreme socialism and license Raj which paralyzed any kind of growth. We only became serious about it since '91 when we had no choice but to reform. In terms of long term trajectory people will laugh in a few yrs that anyone was comparing Vietnam with India and for good reason for one can only ever see aspirations of being a mid tier export hub with hard ceiling on domestic economy and consumption due to its size, geography and population. These guys play a lot of league cricket and its help them prep but the last bit is missing. Bodes well for the sport the competition they are giving.
