@Gollum Replying here because match thread has been archived .

I don't think that Tariq guy is chucking. He bowls with a bent arm but there isn't a whole lot of jerking and straightening. He maintains that bend throughout.

I think the pause is the issue.

Some balls he chucks in between. Secondly the stop should not be allowed after bowler has crossed the back crease line.

Their batting outside Farhan is weak. Need to win the toss, get him out and restrict them to a low score.

Nah. This is Sri Lanka.  Bat first , score 180+, play

PAK cannot chase more than 180, especially on these decks.

Rinku is useless on a spinning pitch with PAK likely to bowl 16 + overs of spin.

We need to be able to bowl 16 overs of spin ourselves.

Anything below 200 will be easy for Pak

160 will be a winning score in Premadasa. It spins a lot there unlike SSC and Kandy.

In fact I back India to defend even 140 there. Need to bowl 15+ overs of spin, and not aim too high when batting, be pragmatic about the conditions.

If pitch is going to be a rank turner, don't see what value Rinku can add. Better go with Sundar and send in 16 overs of spin.

Also in that case, Axar should bat at 4, he is our best batsman on raging turners. And knowing how clutch he is, better trust him to guide us through the middle overs.

With so many southpaws in our XI, doubt they will give Nawaz the ball, he is particularly useless against LHBs. Agha ji may himself bowl.

Usual approach where we aim for 300+ has to be reined in. No pitch so far supports that sort of perpetual pedal to the metal high octane stroke play. Guy like Iyer might not be a bad inclusion.

One more thing that is not being seen.

For all the crying Pooks do over Rauf losing them the AC final, he was a positive matchup vs Surya.

Remember the first Asia Cup game. Pak played 4 spinners there too - Abrar, Nawaz, Saim, Muqeem and it was a cakewalk with Surya hitting 47 (37).
