The best growth prospects for India would be 3 percent per year. Very difficult to expect india to grow like vastly homogenous countries of East Asia.

Average Indian is not as hard working/adventurous/dedicated like a westerner/chink. But he is tolerant and resilient.  Even with dictatorship it is not going to impact anything.

 

And I am not sure if that dictator will be free of regional bias. For example,.look at Modi. He seems to be attached to that feeling of gujju regionalism.

 

When momtaa and laloo had power they routed many railway projects to their lands.

Not to be a spoilsport...but have you seen the ruckus some "rich brats" cause on the ORR or on PVNR ?

 

The "asal hyderabadis" are blaming both Andhra people and North Indians as "gaonwale" who came and spoiled their "culture"...which as per them is now restricted to Charminar, Barkas, Chandrayangutta, Tolichowki.

As @kepler37b said...move it to Nagpur or maybe even Bhopal if it suits everyone...it will be decently away from the hostile neighbours like China, Pakistanistan & Pagladesh.

 

Has excellent rail connectivity from almost every part of the country. Airport facilities though needs to be expanded.

Living here since 2010 bro, have lived in areas like Ameerpet -> Begumpet -> Tirumalagiri -> Sainikpuri -> Tarnaka ->  Khajaguda. Have travelled a lot by public transport like MMTS and RTC buses during struggle days.

 

At that time, Waverock was a secluded place...with only option to travel via public transport was a bus from JNTU..which used to run twice a day.

Lack of investment in R&D from the pvt sector is a biggest worry. All are dependent on govt. Schemes to funnel the amount into R&D...

 

We still havent learnt anything from smartphone fiasco which lead to demise of Micromax, Karbon, Intex via the hands of Chinese manufacturers.

 

Pvt players are stuck in profit recovery mode. Which often ends up selling their product to some giant player while exiting the market themselves with profit. This seems a good short term solution, but has long term impact on the overall industry. There is literally not one Indian Smartphone manufacturer who is a player in global market.

Until recently even China didn't develop smartphones on their own.

Apple and Samsung were highly instrumental in setting up Chinese tech giants like Huawei and Xiaomi. Both these companies provided technology transfer to Chinese suppliers to manufacture their phones on a massive scale.

 

Between 2015 and 2021 Apple invested 250 billion dollars in China which was bigger than the Marshall plan after the two world wars. Now Apple due to its China + 1 strategy is looking to diversify it's supply chains to other countries like India and Vietnam.

 

Lately we've been hearing a lot of news of Printed circuit boards and display manufacturing in places like Noida and Chennai. Why do you think that is? Give it some time we will also slowly move up the value chain like China.

 

Currently we are importing major components from the Chinese suppliers to build the Iphones. Give it some time and our local suppliers will be building these components.

 

Apple generated a revenue of 66 billion $ in 2024 to India's 8 billion in 2024. As Apple deepens it's manufacturing footprint in India our local suppliers also would also receive the tech transfer and we'll be soon developing smartphones of our own.

 

This book "Apple in China" gives a great picture on how Smartphone manufacturers like Apple, Samsung and Contract manufacturers like Foxconn, Pegatron were highly instrumental in developing the necessary supply chains and China's rise as an Electronics hub. The same thing might happen in India if we play our cards nicely.
