Delhi Capitals is actually a good name. It follows the "Washington Capitals (NHL)".

It generally means "those proudly representing the capital". It also infers authority and prestige of being from the place that leads.

Better to use the names which symbolises with the city.

Hyderabad Deccan Chargers was a good name.

Mumbai Marines or Mumbai Marathas suits better considering the coastal / historical proximity.

Deccan chargers was a great name. Gets all in without specifying a city.

ALL OF THEM,Rcb ? Indians? knight riders? wtf are these owners thinking .team names should be simple one word which you can market and none of these qualify .

Rest all bleh. The Hyderabad franchise should have kept the Deccan Chargers name.

Deccan chargers had the best theme song too

Agreed. At least says something specific/unique about the city.

It's all the names with references to royalty - Kings, Super Kings, Super duper kings ... etc - that are cringeworthy

The best one was the one that did not last - Kochi Tuskers

Do you remember their original name?  They were supposed to be "Indi Commandos Kochi", but got severe backlash, so they changed their name to Kochi Tuskers.

Thought it was a strange name.

If we are going to name teams after unrelated electronic items,

I propose: Delhi Dishwashers

Punjab Kings XI looks odd and could've simply called them Punjab Kings. KinightRiders is another odd one - either call them Knights or Riders but who the hell rides a Knight! What does it even mean? :dontknow:

SuperKings is also strange. Maybe call them Emperors or something but just like KnightRiders, SuperKings sounds weird. Also, Mumbai shouldn't have been allowed to use 'Indians'. Let them use something local like Chatrapatis or Ambanis etc. but calling the team Indians when all of the teams are Indians shouldn't have been allowed.

It is Punjab Kings
