Lenskart controversy and media trial of Namita Thapar

I feel it is outrageous that Lenskart should instruct the staff not to do tilak, wear a kalawa or allow girls/ladies to wear bindis.

 

They are getting hammered very badly.

 

Ditto - Namita Thapar. There is news that she invested some money in a business ( via Shark Tank ) that involved "modest dressing "  =- primarily focussed on Hijab for Muslim women and the comment she made below on the benefits of Namaz is purely attempts at 'clever' marketing.  She has been subject to alot of trolling and abuse online.

 

There is nationnwide outrage because of the TCS conversion outrage and there is ample news and evidence that these conversion racquets were /are also being run in other IT outsourcing firms.

Came to know that even Air India has the same no Bindi, Kalawa policy. It is generally discouraged at workplace in India now very few  go to corporate offices sporting bindis. On the other hand, can you go to work wearing Kurta pajama and it’s not an ethnic wear day.

No one would discourage a woman from wearing a bindi to a corporate workplace. 

Where are you getting all this from?

 

Not that she is a role model, but Chanda Kochar frequently wore a bindi to work/meetings.

 

Its more a generational thing. The younger generation of women doesn't wear bindis as much as their mothers did.

Maybe it’s a generational thing, but women wearing Bindi and traditional dresses are generally mocked as Behnjs and young women avoid it. In my experience in India, generally, the urban ones would not wear them and women from rural background or traditional families would do. But this is the first time I’m hearing corporate telling them not to wear it. i

I hope the renaissance of Sanatan Dharma ensures that this trend reverses - and it is reversing in a big way. It is part of our culture and identity and must be displayed without hesitation. 

As far as this Sharktank fraud Namita is concerned - her reason to promote Namaz for “ health benefits “ is exposed below ( see the 2nd video below  from Shark Tank )

If doing namaz has supposeded any health benefits then perhaps she should also educate Muslim society on  how wrapping oneself in Burkha causes huge deficiency of Vitamin D in women because 

the body produces most of its vitamin D when UVB sunlight hits exposed skin (primarily face, arms, hands, and legs). Opaque, full-coverage garments like the burkha block nearly all UVB penetration to the skin.
